This powder has a gorgeous vibrant burgundy color, and I mix it into smoothies and oatmeal. I personally have been consuming around 2 teaspoons or more each day, primarily for its anthocyanin content. I also appreciate that radishes are known to be high in nitrates, so if this powder provides a nitrate boost, even better! By the way, I’ve never seen a real black radish but looking online, the flesh is actually white only the skin is black, which is actually a concentrated purple, so can imagine blending up these radishes and getting a color like his. As for the mildly sweet flavor, the simmering process, which another reviewer mentioned, is probably going to degrade or destroy the compounds that give radish its sharp, spicy flavor.

BulkSupplements is my go-to. Their black radish extract powder is excellent quality. It's a beautiful, deep purple color and tastes surprisingly sweet. I was stumped on the dark color since other online pics I saw of black radish powder we're tan. Research explained extracts are prepared by simmering and then dehydrating at a very low temp. It said extracts are one of the most potent and effective. My research was a general online extract powder search, not on BulkSupplements.com. In addition to taking this 1/4 tsp supplement daily, I will be using it to flavor my kids' healthy gummy bears (collagen supplement).

I was using BLACK RADISH for DECADES ! Same with beet roots. I use to love it. Raw, baked, juice form. Due to several health issues, I had to cut beets are of my menu. This powder is dark purple and very sweet ! I was eating black radish in several form too over my lifetime ( unfortunately can't find it for few years now ). NEVER EVER turned dark purple, nor SWEET ! I have to figure it out where can I send it for testing. Until I am not 100 % sure this product is really " black radish ", I won't be able to use it. Can't afford to take chances. One portion of beet concentrated powder would knock me out ! So, I just have to wait ! I'm using products from this company for years ! This is the first time I am questioning it. Too sick to take chances !

Excellent product! This was a reorder. Very happy to get the same dark red, delightful black radish powder for my protein shakes and smoothies.

I've been including this in smoothies--hoping to benefit from the purifying effects of black radish. It's a deep red color, which adds a slight red tint to the whole smoothie. It has a pleasant taste as well--almost fruity--instead of like a radish.

Wasn't sure what to do with it then I decided to sprinkle on the top of multi grain bread with little unsalted butter and then what the surprise, great taste and hopefully same results

This is not Black Radish. It is bright red in color and too sweet to be Black Radish.
