Good light that performs well
It would be easier to install if the slots for the screws were already punched out. One needs to be careful not to damage the mount when opening the slots. It isn't scored deeply enough to pop out. However, once that is done, the rest of the installation process is fairly easy. A couple of wires to connect, fasten the base in place, and snap the light in place and it is done. The NiMH battery is much smaller and lighter than the SLA batteries used in the older lights. The LED lights are also much brighter and use much less energy which is why such a small battery can be used. It is also much less likely that the bulbs will burn out. This all makes the installation hassle worthwhile.

GOOD LIGHT OUTPUT
I really like this power failure light. I purchased this to replace an old one that needed a new battery, but I didn't want to spend 12 bucks for a battery..This emergency lighting fixture has a modern design. It's lightweight because it uses a replaceable 3.6 volt 1000 mAh Ni-Cd rechargeable battery, like the kind you would find in cordless phones. Which should last about 3 - 4 years . It consumes 0.01 amps and 1.7 Watts. Each light head contains 12 LEDs. Are rotatable and able to aim in a Direction. The light color is a bluish white Diffused spread pattern similar to a flood light.I tested the runtime twice and it has lasted 3 1/2 hrs on battery powerInstallation is either J box mounting (junction box) or conduit. Which I have neither of in my home.In one of my photos you'll see I drilled a hole into the bottom and added a cord with a plug on the end. So that I may just plug it into an outlet and mounted on the wall, which was what I intended to do with it.

works
works ok, would like to have it have a switch or sensor that stops it when it is daylight.

Bright emergency light
I modified mine so I could mount it and plug it in to a standard plug. I just was lazy and didn't want to run a wire up and put in a gang box ect. Just needed emergency lighting to move in the basement when I lose power, way to often. The light is very bright, hopefully it stays that way for a long time. I am considering doubling that battery size to out last the normal power outage around here.

Good value
The unit was very easy to install and seems to work well. We haven’t had a power outage so I haven’t been able to evaluate battery life but we are very pleased with the performance and the value. It exceeded our expectations.

cheap, relatively easy to install
Most everything was easy to use. However, some of the cutouts were very stubborn and not clean to cut.Still, it works, the price is good, and if you have a good box installed, it's a piece of cake.

Does exactly what it is suppose to do
I was not mounting it to a box so I had to drill a hole in the case for the power. Other than that, the install was straightforward and the light works great. Now that I put it up, we will probably not see the power go out!

easy to install
easy to install, also easy to convert to a plug in cord. Not sure of battery life at this installation stage, hopefully will last a few years.
