A Favorite in our House
We stumbled across Rescue Bots on Netflix and my toddler really enjoyed the show. He was almost three at Christmas time and after reading great reviews about these toys we decided to purchase them as a Christmas gift. He has gotten so much play out of these toys! They are easy for him to transform, they are very sturdy, and even his older brother (8) and older sister (10) can be persuaded by him to play along. We purchased Chase, Boulder, Blades and even Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, but Heat Wave wasn't available at Christmas. (We were able to find it on Amazon later.) I have to say that Chase is my favorite! He is so easy to transform and even after months and months of three year old play he looks brand new. There are no parts to fall off or get lost, just a great toy that does what it is supposed to do. Finding such a fun toy at around $10 was fabulous. This toy is an excellent value, I don't regret it for a second. It makes me smile every time I hear him make his little transformer noise and say, "Rescue Bots, let's roll to 'da Rescue."

Beloved toy for 3-4 year old grandson
I bought the entire set for my grandson around 3 years. He is just turning 4, and still loves, loves, loves these toys. He likes this size the best - more transforming options and better play. Wish there were accessories available, and maybe a nice, sturdy, large "headquarters" and/or town to go with the figures. Loves ninja turtles, too, but these are his favorites. Is becoming more interested in the dino-bots, but not much available for those. Think all of the rescue bots would be great for a 2 year old, too - definitely sturdy enough, and not too difficult.

Great little toy
I bought "Octimus Prime", as my 4-year-old son likes to call him, along with Chase (the police car) and Blades (the helicopter) to have on a long plane ride with several layovers. We took out one at a time, and it was a huge hit. We predicted he'd get tired of them quickly, because they are not animated or anything like that, but we were wrong. They remain some of his favorite toys nearly a month later, and was a complete sanity-saver on the long flight. They are durable and transform easily, and for the price, they are hard to beat. If you have a little guy who has any kind of inkling about who the Transformes or Rescuebots are, this will be a hit. The ONLY downside would be, don't expect to keep the tools. They disappeared within a week, but he doesn't miss them and still plays with them daily.

Great toy! My 5 year old son has been collecting these since he was 3
This is the toy my 5 year old son has been looking for. Thank goodness for Amazon. It's unbelievable that I have been looking at stores for this toy for almost a year. Everytime I went I would pick up a Rescue Bot and this one was never in stock. This weekend my son got it as a present from St. Nick, and he said "i have been wanting this forever!" So funny. There are several rescue bots, so I didn't need to buy him earlier, but I am glad I finally did- because he completes our set. These toys are so easy to transform. My son has some hand deformities and is not very strong and he can get these open and closed himself. They are better for him then the littler transformers.

Sturdy and easy to transform for small hands and those not ready for bigger boy Transformers yet
As with the rest of the Rescue Bots in the Energize series, Chase is built well. He has held up to quite a bit of man handling (boy handling?) and rougher playing from my nephew. The Rescue Bots from this series are also quite a bit larger than subsequent ones which I also like. Chase was easy for the kiddo to transform when he first got him at about age 3.5, and though he's starting to move up to the basic regular Transformers (one step changers), these are still in line with those, so he hasn't quite outgrown them yet at age 5. Overall a very good purchase, that I'm still happy with a year and a half later. Although I frequently do reviews on products offered to me at a promotional price, this was a personal purchase. I paid full retail price, and was not asked, nor am I obligated to give a review.

because I really needed them to be as easy to transform as they stated
Bought this as a Christmas gift. I was really nervous about buying these rescue bots for my 3 year old, because I really needed them to be as easy to transform as they stated. I'm pleased to say that they really are! He has a new favorite each week,of the three we bought. Our 1.5 year old is also a huge fan and can transform them by himself. With two young boys, they go through a lot. Blades has already gotten a crack on his helmet and it doesn't flip open automatically like it should. Chase lost an arm by mid January -that was the biggest disappointment and my son was heartbroken. I'm upset that I have to buy another so soon. Heatwave is still in great condition!

Great toy, not as much use as other rescue bots
My 3.5 year old's rescue bot collection is nearly complete... partially due to my own interest in playing along with them. In my son's eyes he likes them all... the newest one he likes most. Here is a list of the order of my favorites and why: 1. Blades - blades is the only one that has a moving object (propeller) and also is the only non-ground bot, so it's fun to have him a part of any collection to change things up. He's also very easy to transform and his transformation looks good. 2. Heatwave - this was the first one we bought and was a great one to start off with. The way the ladder pulls up to transform is very creative and cool. fire engines are cool and a must for rescuing, so Blades and Heatwave together are really all that's needed to make the perfect rescue. His transformability can be difficult for a young one because the arms don't always want to stay down without holding them both down at once. 3. Hoist - when heatwave pops a tire or gets stuck it's nice to have hoist around to pull him out of trouble. Hoist also looks pretty bad-ass and bulky as a robot. His tranformability is similar to Heatwave. 4. Medic - medic is the only one that has a button that activates the transformation. I think as a robot he looks pretty silly, but he's useful to have when someone gets hurt 5. Chase - not always able to incorporate him in our playing. My son really wanted him, but after getting him he didn't get a whole lot of time with him like he did with the others. 6. Boulder - super easy to transform, which makes it kind of boring but good for a 2 year old. He doesn't really help out much except for pushing things off our coffee table that I keep telling my son to leave alone. * Dinobot - my son just got the Heatwave dinobot for xmas. It doesn't transform, but my son loves it. It makes noise, which is pretty darn annoying, but it sure entertains him. I didn't think it would be as fun due to not transforming, but it's fun to use as an accessory to our missions. All in all, every one of these are made very well, will last through lots of toddler abuse, fun to take in the bath, and are entertaining.
