I bought this for my son to go along with his Kindle he would be receiving for Christmas. My wife was very adamant about him having a "Fort Knox" style case to keep things from breaking. When we received this item I immediately noticed the hefty weight and solid construction. This thing feels BEEFY. This thing IS beefy. I almost felt like it would add too much weight and would be uncomfortable for a younger kid to hang onto.When we gave it to him and he put it throught its first Christmas day paces, those worries flew out the window. He had no problems with it and the added grip seems to have a lot to do with it. I like the added protrusions for the buttons as those were a pain to try and find without looking. Also, the directional chambers for the speakers are a nice feature. It is a noticeable difference to have sound channeled towards the front instead of just out the back, keeps overall volume levels a bit lower.My son hasn't dropped his Kindle (yet) so I have no review on protection but he does use his Kindle just about everyday and there are no negatives to report on this case. It is still in perfect shape. It does need to be cleaned every now and again but that isn't a big deal, cases should be taken off and cleaned along with the device anyway!Overall, no complaints. Great purchase. I would buy another one if I had to.

I am extremely happy with this case! My 3 yr old son has dropped his kindle fire hd 8.9 with this case outside on cement and the kindle is fine! We actually just got the case but we take our kindles everywhere and my son will give this case the full inspection. So far...so good!

Hard to take on/off, hard to push the buttons, but silicone is thick and true color green as picture here

I was in the market for a while for a protective case for my Kindle Fire HD 8.9. I wanted a case that would make the Kindle easier to hold and for protection against being dropped. I did not want a case that was foam and that had a chemical smell. I love this case and the green color. It is so much easier to hold and to turn on and off. There are three raised buttons that show you where the on/off and volume switches are and when you press these spots the tablet turns on or off or adjusts the volume through the case. It is easy to remove and replace and has a nice silicon texture. I felt the price was in the acceptable range. It exceeds my expectations and is a well designed case. I am glad that I waited for this case to be available to make my purchase.

This is for my son's kindle and could not be happier. It is very bulky but meets its intended purpose. The tablet now travels outdoors and take small tumbles. Sound quality is also very good.

I REALLY LIKE THIS COVER AND WOULD ORDER DIFFERENT COLORS IF THEY WERE LESS EXPENSIVE. SEEMS TO PROTECT REALLY WELL, HOWEVER A LITTLE LOOSE.

I've had the case on my 8.9 inch kindle fire hd for months now, by the way, this is the two year old's kindle!. Absolutely perfect... adds a little weight to it but she has dropped it plenty and not a scratch. Buttons work great, actually make it easier than the actual kindle. Love it and my daughter loves the bright color.

We got this for our daughters new kindle and so far it is doing its job. My only complaint is that the material it's made out of is like a magnet for dust, pet hair, ect. And it's hard to clean that stuff off of it. For that reason alone, we will probably go with a different brand for our other daughters kindle. This is not to say the product is no good, it is. We just live in a house with lots of pets and the hair stuck on it is an annoyance but the kindle is protected otherwise.
