Wysong Epigen 90 Starch Free Canine Feline Dry Formula Dog Cat Food (WDCFE905), Chicken, 5pounds

We've used Wysong for our pets in the past and never have been disappointed. The quality of ingredients is second to none - in addition to there being very few ingredients that are not "prey oriented." On top of that, the food is meant to be consumed by dogs and cats - this is especially great for households with both cats and dogs because dogs always want cat food and cats always want dog food. Our Lab/Hound mix always eats from the cat bowl acting like she got something special, while our 7-pound older kitten makes the other dog wait in line for her meal. To address the complaints regarding loose stool...this food is intense from a caloric standpoint. It is a very nutrient, protein-dense food. When switching from a standard diet that is less prey/meat-oriented, it is extremely important to switch slowly. Another thing to mention is that your pets' stool will NOT be super hard as this is not desired. You will have more of a soft-serve consistency with less waste. This is actually better for your pet. There are no true "binders" in this food, which is why your pets' waste isn't as closely bound. We have a Pit/Lab mix with a tender stomach and she took about 2 weeks to fully adjust to the food, even after mixing the recommended ratios. It's important to keep at it and don't waffle between diets with pets that have sensitive stomachs with this type of diet. We had a couple of accidents in the morning but after 6 weeks of being on the food, she is completely fine and her gut health is great. Note: I am not a vet but I play one on TV. :-)

Excellent product.I was recommended this because one of my cats says diabetes and thyroid issues, and because this is limited ingredients, it has no peas.No, starch, no grain, no artificial, no meat.Byproducts, it has worked very well for my cat

My cat started sniffing and scratching at the bags as soon as they came out of the box! (Then jumped on the box lol) My cat has never been picky and he does not have any underlying health issues, so I wasn’t really worried about the transition period. But based off of other reviewers I took 3 weeks to get him to 100% on this food. He LOVES IT and goes bananas over it! I feel so thankful to have discovered this food! It is so affordable for the high quality and amazing ingredients and protein/carb ratio!!!!!! Check out “cat food database” website for a good review of it! I ordered bags of the Epigen 90 and the regular Epigen. He’s eaten both for a couple weeks and he hasn’t noticed a difference and neither have we. Still up for debate which one we want him to stick with. My cat has had NO barfing, NO diarrhea, NO gas or extra stinky poops. So it is possible, don’t get scared by other reviewers! And now he’s starting to leave food in his bowl, both wet and dry. So the extra protein is filling him up correctly! Yay healthy kitty! Thank you Wysong!!!

Both my cats really like this food. Very high protein. I also give them fancy feast wet food for one meal. They get small portions of this food at various times via an automated kitty feeder. They are ages 4 and 8. Maybe not good for an older cat

I’ve bought Wysong Restore dry food in the past before and my two cats have loved it. However, I tried Epigen for the first time and it gave one cat really bad diarrhoea. Have to throw out the rest of the bag.

My 14 yr old cat was recently diagnosed with diabetes. The vet suggested that carbs and him being over weight ultimately led to this diagnosis. He is now on insulin twice daily and they prescribed a prescription diet with “lower carbs”. I did a ton of research and decided that the prescription diet had significantly more carbs than cats can digest appropriately and came across this food. I gave it a shot and it has worked wonders for my aging, diabetic kitty! While on the prescription diet and insulin (3 months) my cats sugar leveled at 200-220 and his weight hovered between 14 - 15.4 lbs. The vet wanted his sugar to be between 100-150 and weight to be between 12-13 lbs. Once I changed his diet to this food his sugar is now consistently at 110-117 and has dropped weight and is now consistently at 11.5 lbs (down from 28!). He has been eating this food now for approximately 5 months. He eagerly awaits his food everyday and gobbles it up! He hated the prescription food that the vet gave and did not appear to be excited for feedings. His coat has also changed once I began feeding this food and now appears to be much healthier. I have three other cats in my home and I decided to make the change in their diet also and all of them love this food! They all eat less and stay full longer, their coats have became much healthier, and their breath doesn’t stink anymore! I can not tell you how much of a game and life changer this food is! The vet now believes that as long as his is consistent with his diet we may be able to wean him from the insulin and go strictly to management of his diabetes with just diet alone. Fingers crossed this is the case as he truly hates the shots and I hate to be the one to have to give them to him.

my cats loved this food, would go crazy for it, does give my cats the runs though but they are normally on a raw only diet and we only use this food when we go on trips so the change in diet may have to do with them getting the runs, otherwise it is high quality food and the only dry food im willing to feed to my diabetic cat
