High quality plastic gauge that feels really sturdy
Works exactly like expected, you find the right gauge and measure to see if it matches the length. I REALLY like how it's a square shape, because it means you can use it in two directions if one direction doesn't fit. Quality is really good too, it's not metal but I don't worry about it breaking.

Easy to Use!
This brake pad gauge does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Yeah, it’s plastic, but the angled design is awesome and lets you check pad thickness without pulling the wheel, which saves a ton of time. It fits into tight spots way better than the old metal ones, and it’s way cheaper too. I use it regularly as a tech and it’s been solid. Would I prefer metal? Sure. But for the price and convenience, this thing is 100% worth it.

Works great, dont need to remove wheel, way cheaper than tool truck
If you set the right expectation, it's an amazing tool. Yes, it's cheap plastic, but all it is is measuring. The angle is great to fit into tight spots, allows you to take a break pad measurement without removing the wheel. I don't know why most texts don't have this tool, they have the metal kind that requires the wheel to be removed in order to use.. and also they charge ridiculous amounts for them. This gets the job done, and doesn't break the bank. I'm a technician by trade, so it is used often

Good tool, but overpriced and not as durable as I’d like.
Professional technician here, so I write this in the context of using these dozens of times a day, every day. They are definitely a very clever and nice tool, the huge advantage over the other style is that you can measure at a 90 degree angle to the pad, so you don’t have to remove the wheel. And they are a little flexible so they will fit into odd spots. Size accuracy is spot on according to my calipers. Now for the downsides… two big ones. The first one is how fast they wear. HOLY cow do these start to round off fast, especially when used at the 90 degree end and not the straight end. Most of the guys at my shop get about 4-6mo out of a set before they are too rounded off to use. And that leads me to my second point, they are WAY overpriced. $17 for 9 little flat pieces of plastic on a little metal chain is ridiculous, I would expect $10 max if not less. I would forgive the price if they lasted longer, but they unfortunately don’t. As much as I gripe about those two things, they are a very well thought out tool and definitely are a time saver and irreplaceable for a dealer technician. Overall I’d rate 7 out of 10.

Very versatile
Love this tool. It’s plastic but it’s easy to use. Durable. Check most brakes with or without the wheels.

Perfect for brake measurements with the tires still on the car
I work at a dealership as a lube tech and I do multipoint inspections daily and repetitively. This tool makes it easy to get brake measurements quickly and accurately. The plastic is high quality and the tool functions well. I wish these tools had odd numbers for measurements also but they don't. Overall 5 stars! Buy this asap if you want accurate brake measurements
