Dale Tiffany TW12148 Windham Wall Sconce

These Tiffany-styled sconces bring out the colors of my wallpaper while providing a decent light. They are truly beautiful to look at, and they made the bathrooms where they are hung look way better, where previously I was out of ideas.The one problem is that the lighting fixture inside has a small base, like a chandelier bulb. It’s hard to find those which produce enough light, but you can. The ones I found have many LEDs all over them, arranged a little like corn-on-the-cob. Check for color temperature — I find that soft light is ok, but too warm on the scale (like incandescent bulbs) looks kind of dull through this glass. You’ll need very high-lumen bulbs. Use only LED bulbs. It would be impossible to get incandescent bulbs or halogen bright enough for these sconces without being too hot. LEDs are cool to operate, so you can pump out high lumens while remaining cool. The specific bulbs I’m using are:ZrabeScrew base E12Brightness 2000 lumensPower 20wColor: warm white 3000KVoltage: 80 V - 265 VNon dimmable. (You won’t want to dim them)I found these bulbs at Amazon.The bulbs were visible over the top of the sconce, so I bent the socket bracket downward, tilting the bulb so that it followed the inside edge of the sconce. Now you can’t see the bulbs at all.Installation is not necessarily easy. Depends on what’s already there. If you’re applying these to a new construction, you won’t have any problem. Screwing down the circular brackets that come with most wall-mounted or ceiling mounted lamps today can prove to be difficult over prior installations, as in replacing an existing fixture with these sconces. My previous lamp was installed in 1962, so the hardware did not resemble today’s hardware. I was able to think creatively and managed to get a sturdy installation using some long screws that I already had. It’s got to be a solid install, because the sconce is not lightweight. I’m not saying it’s heavy, but it’s heavier than what was there. It’s doable. I installed two of these, and each location was unique, but I managed to get them very solidly screwed in place. The sconces slide down over the brackets and hook on to the protruding “lip”. Any carpenter could do it. Most homeowners could do it themselves as I did, but if you’re afraid of wiring (and you should be if you don’t know what you’re doing), call a professional.

I'm smitten with this sconce! It was so affordable and after I hung it, the light is quite elegant.It was a bit challenging to hang because I was fighting with a light that was previously in that spot. Otherwise, it was an easy installation.I LOVE IT!

Put 2 in my hall way and they look great. Although I had to order 4 because 2 were broken. No problem in returning them.

This light fits perfect in my Victorian room. It is well made. The only downfall is that you can only use a small bulb so don't expect any real light from the product. It is just a "pretty" but again, fits perfect for my use.

So, so pretty and LED ... they are just the right amount of light for the space the are in.Extremely well made.

We used these on the wall with a mirror inbetween. They are very well made and so pretty.
