You have no idea how much you love a light fixture until it's gone. Kind of like when the refrigerator light goes out and you're looking for a late night snack. Anyway, my light above the kitchen sink went out and sanitation on my dishes has raised alerts in the dark and gloomy area surrounding my sink. Being that it's a light bulb my immediate thought was to buy it at the store up the street. That said, I always do a quick price comparison. I would have paid a dollar more for convenience but not $5 more. So price here was definitely a benefit! Now for performance. This bulb fit well and performed immediately. In fact, it is much brighter than the previous bulb. I am very happy with the quality thus far and am excited to live in a world where bacteria and grime fear my sponge once again. Run away Ecoli. Run away and never look back. (Signal the hyenas)

This was purchased as a replacement lamp for a fixture behind the attic access panel in a hallway. It is one of those under-cabinet jobs for which bulbs cost as much or more now than the entire unit's original purchase price. I was just going to run down to the local Home Depot to get a new one, then thought I should check their website first. Good thing I did because it turns out that size is not stocked and similar, smaller lamps are priced about twice as high as this one on Amazon. The fact that the shipping was free made it a no brainer. It was delivered 6 days after the order was placed and arrived in the usual thin cardboard tube, which was also wrapped in two layers of bubble wrap and enclosed in a snug fitting cardboard box. It takes one or two seconds to light after the switch is thrown, shines much brighter than the old one, with no flickering. What more could you ask?

At first it didn't work but I left it in for awhile then it clicked on:) I have an old unit it went in till I go shopping for a better looking one but I wanted it working now so I got this bulb. It's almost instant on and no flickering like my old one. Very happy with the price, delivery, packaging (there is quite a bit of packing in an oversized box but I daresay if it was packaged with less and arrived broken you'd be doubly 'p...d'). I used my boxes in the garden anyway to put under leaves where I want to make a path to keep grass down so I don't waste them and they do double duty:)

It's a light bulb. Doesn't appear to be as bright as the bulb in the new fixture we had to buy to replace one that had quit working. That's why I gave it 4 stars. But if you're looking for an 18" bulb for your fixture this is a good replacement.

Update: bulb started working again and has been working for several months now. I’ve updated the star rating. Sorry for the initial review and star rating. Original: It was good for one and a half months then it went out. We leave this light on 24/7 in the kitchen so I knew it wouldn't last forever but the original bulb that came with the fixture lasted for 6 years when on 24/7. Seller returned the cost of the bulb ($1.50 ish) but not the shipping cost ($3 ish).

Excellent for the price and the exact size I needed.

Just more junk. These were packaged so they could bounce around as much as possible as they got tossed about on their journey to my home; everyone knows that light bulbs aren’t fragile. Then, when I had it installed I had to keep peeking under the aquarium hood to see if it was on. It emitted it’s dismal glow for a couple days. It was so dim, I barely noticed it was actually burnt out. It’s pathetic life of just a few days. Poor bulb. Waste of money.

I ordered this bulb after the old one I used above the kitchen sink went bad after almost eight years of service. At first I thought this was a bad bulb because it sounded like something was loose inside it and others who have had problems with the bulb have reported this as well. Inserting the bulb wasn't as easy as with the old one because it is slightly longer and it was a very tight fit. After finally getting it inserted it would not turn on. So I removed it and was going to try to return it when I decided to give it one more try. I thought maybe with it being such a tight fit it wasn't making a good enough connection. When I inserted it a second time it worked and has worked fine ever since. I'm going to give this bulb five stars for now but if anything changes in the future I'll be sure to update this review.
