Great book - about parts of the Desert war we forget
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and Damien is a master of the genre. He brings the history to life with vivid characterisations and prose.

A very detailed and spellbinding account of heroics so common in ww2.
The author does a very good job of making very entertaining, what amounts to a documentary in many ways. I found myself unable to put it down, once begun.

I couldn’t put it down. The heroism of all those participating is exceptional. I’m glad their story has been written.

A Gripping WWII Tale of Cunning, Daring, and Sheer Guts
Lewis does a masterful job of sucking the reader in with his fast paced and action packed WWII historical account of the original "special" soldiers. The LRDG - committing piracy on the desert against Nazi and Italian forces and masters of a barren domain that no other soldiers felt comfortable in - utilizing weapons meant for fighter aircraft mounted on their vehicles and employing classic naval tactics - they'd navigate the sand seas and unleash devastating surprise broadside attacks against their enemies and then disappear into the desert night just as rapidly as they appeared - hence the earned monicker "Pattuglia Fantasma" or "Ghost Patrol"; The SAS - pioneers in small unit hit and run tactics and the forerunners to all things "Special Operations" in the modern age; and the SIG - the ultra secret unit comprised of native German speakers who risked life and limb to 100% mimic actual Nazis so as to infiltrate and wreak havoc among the enemy units. SAS Ghost Soldiers is the historical account of how circumstances brought these three units together to undertake one of the most daring raids of WWII. Lewis' fast paced and never dull storytelling grabs the reader full force, sucks him into the story, and doesn't let go until the last page is turned.

The unknown raid
Although I knew something of the desert campaign the raid on Tobruk was news to me.The heroism of the combats connot be imagined in today's context. Let us hope that it never happens again

Fascinating and detailed based on historic events against incredible odds
Fast action and incredible bravery and perseverance as a tiny force is highly trained men attempt to destroy the supplies and facilities at Tobruk, a German bastion and cornerstone of their efforts in North Africa. Compelling first-hand accounts from forgotten records deliver the intensity of special unit operations and indomitable spirit. Well worth the time.

Leitura sensacional!
