Unpretentious Vitamin C Powder Baker Ascorbic Acid, Resealable Bag

Bought to use for pH control and to counteract chloramine in our city water when watering plants. Looks and smells like I would expect and definitely provides a pH-down effect.

Only used it once for vegetable additions to my bread to retain color. I am not sure if I did not use enough of it, didn’t seem to help retain color as much as I expected it to. Maybe it was just what I added to my bread that wasn’t meant to work. But I don’t believe that’s the brand I I used, just what I wanted it to do for my bread. I will try that again though. It blends in well, there’s no “taste” to it when baked.

I had questions and sellers quickly responded. I had an issue with my product and seller quickly resolved it. I use this for bread baking and works like a charm. So many other uses. I’ll also try it in my sourdough starter, to improve the environment for those happy little yeasts. :-)

We bought this product to use in baking. It is supposed to help bread dough rise more effectively. Generally, we'll use only a small amount each time, so the fact that the bag is resealable is convenient. We have not noticed any effect on the flavor of the bread, but would probably not expect this to happen in the amount that we typically use. Having purchased the product in early September 2019, the expiration date was listed as February 2020. However, this probably refers more to the guaranteed potency of the vitamin C as a supplement, rather than its effectiveness as a baking aid. It is also convenient that the product is sold in smaller bags as well as larger.

So far ive used them in my baked breads and ginger chews. My ginger chews taste is sweet and sour punch of medicine and my breads last longer!

Has made a big difference in my breads. The rise is better, the bread stays moist and fresh for days.
