This series needs to move it along
At this point, book 7, now it feels like this series is just treading water. There’s still no deal or conclusion with the humans. Two new couples were introduced so it’s a toss up for which couple will be focused on in book 8. I’d say likely Danaar and the VP Madison if the author wants to move the series on at all. This was another SFR where there was the back and forth struggle and tug of the human doing the whole “oh no not me! Oh no. I don’t want a mate. Oh, no no no! But oh look I’ve been horrible to a male and he still wants me. Let me keep fighting to point he does something crappy and then I’ll just gasp and whimper and feel my arousal pooling....”I wanted to like this book, overall I’ve somewhat enjoyed the series. I had high hopes going into this addition to this series, but it fell flat and didn’t really progress the series forward. Just another version of a human fighting a bond, but with the characters having new names. As far as this book goes there were some discrepancies. In the previous book it mentioned something like Dani had part of her head shaved. But no mention of that in this book and it mentioned putting her hair behind her ear etc. So like, she has longer hair now I guess?I was getting to the point where I was beginning to get bored, and then Dani basically caved to him and then I got frustrated. How do you go from being the single biggest bada$$ in human military and not wanting a mate to then caving almost instantly from a few kisses. She didn’t struggle with losing a fight which I thought she should have more. Then she’s all whimpering and gasping. Sardaan got mad at her a few times and was getting aggressive. After he caught her trying to snatch a ship he got extremely angry and it truly felt like he was going to rape her especially after he said he was done waiting and she was going to be his. But of course instead of fighting what her thinking made everyone think that she perhaps did not want it, she just gave up and participated in the sex. But it had that undertone that if she hadn’t did the whole puddy in his hands, giving up against her previously mentioned natured, he’d have just taken it anyways. So there were some parts where things were getting that forced / anxiety inducing vibe.Another time when he was mad at her, even if he did thinking she was betraying them he internally thought / called her a b*itch and it felt extremely distasteful. I was frankly shocked that a mate he should love and he wanted so much that even if he was mad he would turn so trashy and begin degrading name calling, even if it was only mentally. He started out so sweet and funny sounding during his chapters. Then it was like once he got her he started changing into some border line jerk. The way he progressed did not seem true to character.Overall, I was disappointed because this is the same ol’ song and dance that’s over running SFR with a human woman being moronic and fighting a good thing when she really has no other choice. So instead of making the best out of the situation or finding a doable alternative the books center on the ridiculous male graveling at the humans feet, she treats him like crap and doesn’t want the bond but oh wait she kinda considers it, then he gets bad then she does the whimper crap. This book was not worth the price point of 3.99 IMO. This was for sure a Kindle Unlimited candidate. But it’s my understanding many authors are wanting to back away from using KU and wanting to up their book prices to make more money. Unfortunately the market is flooded with so much bland material and shorter books, I don’t know how all those authors think they’ll make anything if they leave KU and keep doing these prices. I rarely ever buy a book anymore unless I’m already into the series. Otherwise, I basically stick to KU cause it’s a better deal so I don’t feel ripped off after certain books.I hope that this series gets back on track moving forward with book 8. It would be nice to see some new developments and the storyline actually progressing. Besides just another reluctant moron human fighting a bond that most human men would never dream of giving a female.

Bodice Ripper aka Rape
I love the other books in the series and if I didn't know better, I would swear this was done by a ghost writer... the other option is Mina Carter was under deadline and just hacked out a book to meet her contract.Where the characters in previous books were likeable, strong, and honorable... you suddenly have the male protagonist "taking" a woman against her will and almost raping her. If you think I'm joking it starts with the "hero" challenging her to a physical fight so he can claim her against her will.... where he then beats her with his fists and chokes her unconscious to get her to submit. It was bad enough her friends had to check to see if the blood vessels in her eyes had exploded. Not joking. Then the very next morning other warriors are teasing the "hero" because they figured he plowed her the night before... you know after beating her unconscious and claiming her... so they even assumed he got some whether she wanted it or not.And then, the next day he gets angry with her and decided he has waited long enough and he was going to plow her if she wanted it or not... I don't care if she eventually got into it. He was going to do it regardless because it was his right and he was physically more powerful. See above where he beat her with his fists and choked her out. The "hero" even takes the attitude the next morning of... you know you wanted it, I just had to show you... aka you were asking for it.When did the warriors in this book go from respecting and revering women to claiming then against their will and putting their hands on them without permission? The king in the series was going to keep having warriors challenge her until she was physically incapable of fighting back... it had a dog fight/gang rape/sex trafficking feeling to it. Does that make the king a pimp? He steals/tricks women and let's them get beat bloody until they can't fight off an attacker any longer ... so she can then be taken against her will and belt out babies. And considering it ended with another woman being taken physically against her will to be another warriors "mate"... I expect the next book to be equally terrible and bordering on rape. Afterall, looks like the author now thinks a man knows best and just needs to force the females to comply and then she will realize her true feelings. Lame bodice ripper/rapey book.

Nope
I stopped at 52%. This book feels more like rape and Daynal now allows this. I’m not pleased where this book went. The other gals didn’t even blink at her Being claimed. I loved the series up until now, however not sure I will continue with it. I love her as an author but this book was beyond disappointing.

I can't wait for the next one
Dani Black is one tough woman. She is a Major General and can take on any man and win. She wants to insure that Madison Cole, the VP, it returned safely. But the Latharians have other plans. Sardaan is to be her escort and plans to conquer her. Once in the circle, it is a matter of winner the match and her. But nothing is ever easy.Sardaan maybe a tough warrior but when he sees Dani, he wants to just protect her. She is a tough cookie. You have to love that she was not going to allow any man or alien to take her. She is a bad ass fighter and is equal if not better than the Latharians. I have to say that I really get mad when these higher ups keep trying to threaten our women officers. They need to be captured. I did cry during the book and I was a bit heartbroken but it turned around. The Latharian men are hot and sexy and know EXACTLY how to treat a woman, well sometimes. Now we need to find out fi Danaar is next or Kenna. I really want to read about Kenna

Lost its way
This book sticks to the basic theme for the series i.e. human woman meets big bad alien warrior and is overcome by lust that transforms into true love. The better books in the series manage to do this without compromising the strength of the female character. This one doesn't. The female character is supposed to be a female major general, a character with combat expertise but also strategy and intellect, all of which instantly disappears the minute she is tricked/beaten into accepting a mating bond from the big bad alien. Disappointing.

An Invitation, Tricked and Consequences
When Major General Danielle Black is invited to a formal meal aboard a a Latheren vessel to meet the Emperor and return Vice President Madison Cole to her ship.Part way through the meal and after being challenged by one of the warriors, Dani Black defeats Konaat T'Kiis only to be tricked into a claiming match with Sardaan K'Vass, which had been intended all along. Now mated, her superiors are determined to kidnap the Emperor of the Lather and take control of Lather ships. Told to help human military to board the enemy vessels, Dani Black demands that the idea be on record as too risky and life changing for humanity. Another great story of the Lather and the human females they encounter.

Another good read
Min Carter does it again. Yet another good read in the Lathar series. Not my most favourite book, as I feel Dani surrendered too quickly for a woman of her standing in the military, but a good read anyway. My only slight disappointment is that humanity is being portrayed as decidedly stupid for trying rediculous attacks on the Lathar based on a few idiotic military men who haven't yet thought to think out some kind of negotiations with the Lathar; they seem too intent on causing war than fixing it. This is the part of the story line that seems to have taken a nose dive and needs pulling back on track. Otherwise a good story.

Sarcasm and Dani
Dani is a legend among marines. Their story is yet another human female banning a Lathar warrior and proving that human women are more than capable of defeating a Lathar either in a fight or as a gentle woman. This series is enjoyable and makes for a good read while relaxing in an evening.

Fab read again
I always look forward to the next instalment of Lathar Warriors and can't help it but read in one go. Now I'm waiting for book 8 and hoping Mine Carter is near!y at the end. If you haven't read any yet then get book 1 and you'll not regret it
