Electro-Voice ZLX-12 12 Inches Passive Speaker

I own 8 of these and just ordered 4 more. I am in a touring band and have used these all over America for the past few years. They make excellent monitors and in smaller venues incredible mains. I always use them with separate JBL subs and they always keep up with zero problems. I have never had distortion, or noise of any kind from these speakers. I do carry them in flight cases (2 per case) to protect them in the truck/trailer. They get jolted around in the trailer behind the tour bus ... but they have never failed. The sound is amazing and our pro sound guy will be the first to tell you they do not compete with $5,000 RCF or LaAcoustic speakers, but they outperform all speakers in their class and definitely in their price range. They're less than $500 each ... get them. Easily handled by one man. They are amazing and you will be pleased.

I bought a pair because my wife, a karaoke host. Swore by them over the peavey DM series. They kinda are great sounding but certain frequencies break down into loud white noise while people singing. I tried contacting EV but wasn't very helpful. If we use JBL's with the same setup, and also a set of qsc's without issues. I wish we were still in the return perioy
