New Perspectives on Computer Concepts 2018: Comprehensive 020 Edition, Kindle Edition

Amazon is going to put the college bookstore out of business. I rented this one. Its a great book, but it's thorough. Almost 1000 pages. Three times as much to buy new, almost twice as much new. Get a rolling backpack - it's heavy. Security, software, networks, databases, Python, OPP, web, social media...the whole shebang. Obliquely covers business applications, but I'm glad it doesn't revolve around them, as the publisher and my class description led me to believe. My advice is to rent it and buy it again when the new edition comes out if you think you'll. Want to refer back to it, unless you're loaded. If you were going to scan it, it would take you some time, and I believe it's illegal, even for personal use.

I for one am not a person who likes to read but I love the fact that this book can get you hooked on it as soon as you start reading. I love reading this book and I’m always looking forward to what the next section/module is gonna be about. I also love the fact that Amazon has this book for rental for only $30 for a whole semester and they’ll even let you extend your rental if needed. 1000% sure I’m gonna use Amazon’s Texbook Rental Program again in the future; cheap and easy to return, just drop it off at your local UPS store, no packaging/shipping labels needed!

Buying this as a loose leaf textbook was key - it's massive, and being able to take out each chapter as I needed it saved me from lugging the whole book around all semester. Decent content; it was required for class. Good real-world application discussions.
