I ordered candle holders and one was perfect...the other looked like it had either melted on one side was paint was spilled on it...I am using it anyway because it was the last available but I am disappointed in the quality of that candleholder.

It is true, this candle is all one piece, and it does not have a timer, however, if you have a Luminara remote control, it will work with this candle. If you look around you can purchase a remote control for as little as $3.99, and on occasion I have even seen them cheaper than that. It is a nice candle, but very inconvenient if you do not have a remote for it.

This candle, contrary to the product description, has no timer. In order to turn it on and off, you have to open a compartment on the bottom, and do it manually. I was unpleasantly surprised, as I own several Luminara candles, and all have timers. I was also hoping that the candle and stand could be used separately, but it is one piece. It is cute, as all Jim Shore products are, but not having a timer is a real design flaw, making this otherwise attractive candle a nuisance, rather than a delight.
