desertcart.com: Star Trek The Next Generation: The U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D Illustrated Handbook (Star Trek Illustrated Handbooks): 9781858755403: Robinson, Ben, Riley, Marcus, Garrard, Rob, Fullwood, Ian: Books Review: Nice facelift to classic material - Having been a subscriber to Star Trek: The Magazine for its full run nearly 20(!) years ago, I didn't expect this book to be much more than a simple collection of the technical briefings from those issues, themselves derived from the Star Trek Fact Files. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the material has received a facelift. Most obviously all of the blurry pre-DVD screencaps have been replaced by crisp HD ones from the remastered edition of TNG. Some of the diagrams have also been enhanced or revised, and a few bits of newer content produced as part of the Star Trek: Official Starships Collection was added. Models of the Enterprise lifeboats and Sphinx workpods appear for the first time in print to my knowledge (hopefully this means they'll appear in the Starships Collection eventually as well). The overall layout and formatting of the book is also very well done and it's nice to have everything in one place rather than scattered over several issues like with the Magazine. The only content missing from the Magazine that I would like to have seen here was a deck-by-deck rundown of the Enterprise. But most of that simply reused previous content so it's not much of an omission. If you missed out on the original run of the Fact Files or the Magazine and are interested in Trek tech this is a definite buy, and even if you do still have those old copies it's worth considering as a purchase. Looking forward to the next edition covering the original Enterprise and -A. Hopefully a Voyager version will come along eventually as well. Review: A beautiful Star Trek reference book - This is a gorgeous presentation of technical reference-type material for Picard's Enterprise. It's a collection of entries from the Star Trek Fact Files magazine series published from 1997 - 2002, but that's a hard publication to find these days so for most this will all be new. It reminds me of a combination of the old Starfleet Technical Manual and the Star Trek Blueprints of the 1970s, but in full color with a ton of images both original and drawn from the TV show and movies. The ship itself is covered in exhaustive detail (want to know how the Reaction Control System thrusters worked? There's two pages on that) as well as other technologies such as phasers, PADDs, the hypospray, etc. I'm looking forward to future entries covering the other ships of the fleet.

For a starship nerds bookshelf
A must have for Trekkers and Trekies. When I grew up with Star Trek: The Next Generation. All we starship nerds had was the blueprints and tech manual. This book has lots of great illustrations and photos. Its an updated tech manual. Great to share with young trekkers who want to nerd out.

Great for Trek Fans
I love coffee tables books and I love this series of specialized Star Trek books. This is a great look inside TNG, and the information is excellent. I really like all the detailed illustrations within it. The length is really good as well, so there is a lot of value for the price. I would recommend this for anyone who love TNG and Trek.

Must for any TNG fan!
I love it! I grew up with TNG and I’ve been a life long fan, I really enjoyed going through the charts and diagrams in this book, I will def get the other Star Trek illustrated handbooks now! Yes it does come with a red sticker but as shown in my picture it is easily removable and did not leave any residue or trace behind.

This thing is amazing
Where was this book in 1995? So detailed and well produced. Full color. Gorgeous technical art. The illustrations are high quality and quantity, and it doesn't suffer from typical "here's just a bunch of photos you've seen from the show" content that plagues so much of Star Trek product.

Great for collectors! As a life long TNG fan, this is a great item and the book is wonderful to add to any collection. The enterprise was a lot larger than I expected and very detailed, looks brilliant when on its stand also. This is great value for money, authentic and for any true fan of series should really consider getting it while you can at this price! 🖖
