I am a repeat customer with these crickets because this is the only company that has sent me a package with all 250 alive! Not ONE died! My daughter and I were shocked trying to find at least one carcass. I will say it does make a difference based on who your Post Office person is and how they deliver the package. We have 1 person who will set them on our doorstep at 9am so they do not die in the hot sun, but the other person will stick them in the mailbox to roast! They always come with a couple of potatoes to feed them, and we have found a small terrarium works best to keep them alive until they can become meals for my Leopard Geckos. Review: Plenty of healthy crickets. - So its just about time in illinois where you can get insects delivered by post without them dying. I brought this box in in the evening. Opened it in the tank because who needs hundreds of cricks roaming their ducts. ( those stories always make me laugh) and a huge pile just landed in the bottom of the tank. I know crickets look dead when they are cold and the seller said they would be good down to 25 deg f. So i crossed my fingers and low and behold when i looked in the tank they were all moving around happily in their new luxury accommodations unaware of their fate as lizard food. Obviously i didn't count them, but eyeballing theres at least 1000 of them of various sizes. Some of those beatles that clean the tank are also in there, and i dont mind those, though i would reccomend killing the larvae if you spot it because my experience is that some is good, but they breed fast. I don't know if lizards should eat those and they fly so they are an escape hazard but they eat dead things so stop your crickets smelling bad if they die.

Worth trying for the price
The way that I recieved the crickets the first time was great only a few dead crickets and about 6 to 7 large chunks of potato in there for the guys to munch on. And after keeping them in my cricket totes they lasted almost well over a month with food and water changes every 3 days. It was excellent and decently priced. And if you house them right over time these are a great option for breeding as I had got a few pin batches out of them. Buuuttt... Unfortunately this last time I bought crickets. When they arrived I immediately noticed when I opened the box that a bunch on the egg crates were either dead or not moving. So I carefully dumped the dead or weak crickets into a separate bin. While I was doing this I noticed this time there was only 4 small pieces of potato that were heavily eaten. I estimated some 150 dead crickets out of my 1000 order. Wrote it off as stuff happens. But immediately after keeping these crickets in the same totes and environment conditions as my other crickets. these started dying off FAST upwards of 25 to 50 a day. There soils, temp, humid, food and water have been constantly observed and adjusted accordingly to keep the little guys happy. So my review is 4 stars. Its gonna be a hit or miss buying crickets so far ive had a 50/50 experience. But regardless its still worth trying if you have lotts of reptiles.

Random Beatles
Got what I thought was going to be a good deal but only after a few days my crickets start dying. When the box came in there were some random Beatles with them and I’m pretty sure they laid eggs in my cricket sand. Kinda annoying that I can’t trust my order to be the insect I ordered. I shouldn’t need to worry about random bugs in my feeder crickets. I don’t know if the bugs that came with are even safe for the crickets or my geckos. Very disappointed

3rd time and definitely a great buy!
First off I want to say I am so glad that someone told me 1000X to order my krickets from Amazon and from this company and finally gave in and just did it! My life is so much easier not having to run to petco every 3-4 days and half of those dieing on me! Not to mention I buy 500 at a time for $21 and going to petco I would get 3 dozen (because they dont last long) at a time at $.17 cents a piece coming to $6.12 every 3 days or now I spend $21 for $500 and I'm good for almost 3 weeks, it's a no brainer! I've seen a lot of bad reviews and I understand every order can't be perfect but this is my 3rd order and I don't count the crickets because I dont touch them lol but to last as long as 3 weeks their has to be at least 500 and when my new order comes in I clean out my cricket box before putting the new ones in and I never count more than 2 dead crickets! These crickets are fast and full of energy! Thank you so much!

Reasonable quality crickets, but fewer than advertised.
I placed my order for 500 ½ in. banded crickets on Thursday 2018-08-26, they shipped on Monday 2018-08-30, and I received the crickets in relatively good condition on Thursday 2018-09-02. Indeed, this was one of the healthier shipments of crickets I have received with very few DOA and over 90% of the population appearing healthy and active. The initial die off that usually accompanies shipping crickets was also somewhat smaller than usual. So why the mediocre review? - There was a wide range in cricket sizes with some being only 4 or 5 mm in length while a majority of the population was larger than expected. Indeed, there was a substantial number of full grown, sexually mature individuals which were ready to deposit eggs from day 1. I was wanting to start a breeding colony, so I don’t mind all that much, but this wasn’t what I thought I was buying. - I only received 355 crickets plus remains from about a dozen more. And yes: I counted each one. (I’m using a larger container than I have in the past which caused me to initially estimate the population at ~200. I wouldn’t have spent the time otherwise.)

Much better than local pet store
I dont know where our local pet store gets their crickets from but they dont live nearly as long as these. They seem healthy and our lizards seem to love them. I love that I dont have to run to the store every weekend to get crickets. When I received the crickets today i thought they were all dead so I contacted the seller and they instantly responded letting me know the crickets hibernate if its too cold. They said to let them warm up for a few hours and to let them know if they arent alive after that. Well they are alive!! Super thankful for this seller.
