There is no way this book should have a 4.5 star rating. Aside from the problematic sentence structure and grammar mistakes throughout, the content of the book is not helpful. I understand it's supposed to be a quick read, but all of the tips are so vague as to be completely useless. Example: it mentions a few times that lye is dangerous and soaps that contain it need to be cured, but they never reveal what exactly that means or for how long. It is repetitive in general, while not giving much information. Unless you are amused by poorly written books (and enjoy wasting time) I'd suggest you pass on this one.

There were a lot of spelling and grammatical errors, as well as poor sentence structure, which required some deciphering on several paragraphs.The information was good, however I expected more actual instruction and direction. Ingredients are provided, for a couple of different soaps, but the reader is expected to find another recipe with directions to make the soaps.

This book is exactly that, less than a 30 minute read, and you definitely get what you pay for. There is nothing specific in this book on how to make soap, but it provides you with a broad overview of the concept of making your own soap if that is what you are looking for. This is nowhere near "teaching you everything" in 30 minutes, it is far from it. I wouldn't waste the money if I had it to do all over again.

This book was a decent into to soapmaking, though like the other 30 Minute Read books I've read so far it did leave me feeling like there was a lot of filler/repetition and not enough additional information included. It was much better about that than the other ones, though.

I thought it was poor for an instructional book, especially not providing step by step instructions for mixing the ingredients initially. Lye is one ingredient that needs to be handled and mix precisely and carefully to avoid coming into contact with the lye. The lye can combust and splash-back onto skin or eyes. April Mains, Iowa

This one has easy instructions and can really help beginners like me. This soap making is also a must share with my mom friends and we can make it into a profit.
