I know the manufacturer answered otherwise but 5Gbps can only happen in a 9pined connection. **Q: can it transmit video from a USB C webcam?** A: You should be able to connect a USB-C webcam through the adapter to use with the computer, as long as the WebCam does not have a high power requirement. **Q: Can i connect my type-c soundcard to my old pc which only can support usb-2 and usb-3 with this adapter ?** A: As long as the sound card is USB 3, then it will work with the soundcard. Thanks for choosing Satechi!! Feel free to reach back out for any inquires. - Jim T. (Satechi Tech Support) **Q: How many pins is there inside the usb-a male plug?** A: In the standard USB A connector four pins are defined. Two pins are used for power and two pins are used for differential data transmission. If you look carefully at the connector you will see that the pins for the power connection (pin 1 and 4) are slightly longer. This is done on purpose to first connect the power supply when connecting a USB device, and only afterwards establish the data connection. With this sequence the chance that the driver or receiver ports of the data connection receive awkward and possible dangerous voltages is lowered substantially. Standard USB A connector pin names Pin Name Color Function 1 Vcc Red +5V supply voltage 2 D- White Data- signal line 3 D+ Green Data+ signal line 4 GND Black Supply ground ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Satechi Type-A to Type-C Adapter Converter - unbeliveabe addon to my Arsenal of USB converters *by A***R on September 7, 2023* Ladies and gentlemen, hold onto your seats, because I am about to embark on an electrifying journey into the world of technological wonderment, brought to you by none other than the Satechi Type-A to Type-C Adapter Converter! The build quality is excellent, and the compact design ensures it doesn't add unnecessary bulk to my setup. The adapter feels robust and durable, promising longevity and reliable performance. The USB-A to USB-C conversion is flawless, allowing me to connect my older devices to newer USB-C ports effortlessly. This adapter has become an indispensable tool in my tech arsenal, bridging the gap between various generations of devices. Whether it's charging my phone, connecting to my laptop, or transferring data between devices, the Satechi Type-A to Type-C Adapter has proven to be a versatile and reliable solution. It's a 5-star product that delivers on simplicity, functionality, and build quality. Highly recommended for anyone looking to upgrade their connectivity options with ease! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Setup is as simple *by H***Y on August 13, 2024* As someone who often needs to connect a laptop to external monitors or projectors for work presentations, I decided to try the Satechi Type-C to HDMI Adapter. I was particularly interested in its ability to deliver 4K resolution at 60Hz, as well as its compact and portable design. **What I Like:** - **High-Quality 4K Output**: The adapter delivers impressive 4K video output at 60Hz, which is perfect for connecting to high-resolution monitors or TVs. The image quality is crisp and clear, with no noticeable lag or degradation, making it ideal for presentations, watching videos, or working with detailed graphics. - **Sleek and Compact Design**: The adapter has a sleek, minimalist design that matches well with modern laptops, particularly MacBooks. It’s small enough to easily fit into a laptop bag or even a pocket, making it a great travel companion for professionals on the go. - **Plug-and-Play Functionality**: Setup is as simple as it gets—just plug it into your laptop’s USB-C port and connect it to your monitor or TV via HDMI. There’s no need for additional drivers or software, which is a big plus for ease of use. - **Durable Build Quality**: The aluminum casing not only looks premium but also adds durability to the adapter. It feels solid and well-made, capable of withstanding the wear and tear of daily use. **What I Don’t Like:** - **Heat Generation**: The adapter tends to get warm after extended use, particularly when streaming high-definition content or running graphic-intensive applications. While it hasn’t caused any performance issues, it’s something to be aware of if you’re using it for long periods. - **Limited Ports**: This adapter is focused solely on HDMI output, which is great if that’s all you need. However, it would have been nice to have additional ports, like a USB-A or another USB-C port, to increase its versatility. - **Price**: The Satechi adapter is a bit more expensive compared to some other HDMI adapters on the market. While the quality and performance justify the price, there are cheaper alternatives if you’re on a tight budget. **Bottom Line:** The Satechi Type-C to HDMI Adapter is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a reliable and high-quality solution to connect their USB-C laptop to an external display. Its 4K 60Hz output, sleek design, and plug-and-play functionality make it a great tool for professionals who need dependable performance on the go. While it’s a bit pricier and generates some heat during use, its overall build quality and performance make it a worthwhile investment for those who prioritize both style and function. ## Frequently Bought Together - Satechi Type-A to Type-C Adapter Converter - USB-A Male to USB-C Female - Compatible with iMac, MacBook Pro/MacBook, Laptops, PC, Computers and More (Space Gray) - Vapur Collapsible Water Bottle With Carabiner, Compact Bottle Folds Flat For Hydration On The Go, Ideal for Traveling, Hiking or Camping, 23 Ounce, Olive, Pack of 1 --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.ie/products/96291315-satechi-usb-a-to-usb-c-adapter-power-delivery-charging](https://www.desertcart.ie/products/96291315-satechi-usb-a-to-usb-c-adapter-power-delivery-charging) --- *Product available on Desertcart Ireland* *Store origin: IE* *Last updated: 2026-10-26*
