Is it true that the device supports up to 5Gbps speeds or is the info on the page misleading?

USB 3.0 ports have 9 pins for 5gbps, if this product has only 4 pins (which the manufacturer answer is the amount it has) is a 2.0 USB port, so it can only reach 480Mbps, this is a physical limitant related to the amount of pins available regardless if you connect this cable to a 3.0 or 3.1 port, you will only get 2.0 speed. I know the manufacturer answered otherwise but 5Gbps can only happen in a 9pined connection.

can it transmit video from a USB C webcam?

You should be able to connect a USB-C webcam through the adapter to use with the computer, as long as the WebCam does not have a high power requirement.

Can i connect my type-c soundcard to my old pc which only can support usb-2 and usb-3 with this adapter ?

How many pins is there inside the usb-a male plug?

In the standard USB A connector four pins are defined. Two pins are used for power and two pins are used for differential data transmission. If you look carefully at the connector you will see that the pins for the power connection (pin 1 and 4) are slightly longer. This is done on purpose to first connect the power supply when connecting a USB device, and only afterwards establish the data connection. With this sequence the chance that the driver or receiver ports of the data connection receive awkward and possible dangerous voltages is lowered substantially.
