Exactly what I needed
This book is an excellent resource for therapists working with clients who struggle with anxiety. It approaches in depth different types of anxiety, and provides theoretical foundations and treatment planning techniques. Excellently written.

Seminal Manual for ALL Effective Anxiety Treatment
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Anxiety Specialist for 23 years. This book is a key and even critical, in-the-trenches practice reference for anyone daily doing Exposure, ERP, Graduated Exposure and so on with their patients. This exposure manual cuts across a wide swath of anxiety diagnoses and clinical presentations. Thank you for such a comprehensive, well-researched How-To manual for the effective application of exposure therapy! The chapters on ACT application and Pharmacotherapy (especially with BZ vs Serotonergic agents, and D-Cycloserine augmentation for exposure, and also for fully “outing” the outdated and potentially harmful “chemical imbalance” explanation offered up by physicians) were all refreshing, and informative. This book is comprehensive and eminently practical. Again, this is a SEMINAL anxiety treatment manual, and a will quickly become a regular, dog-eared reference for any exposure clinician worth their salt. Well-written, easily accessible and organized based on symptom presentation- this but book is well-researched and empirically-backed. Excellent.

The best clinical guide for treating anxiety disorders--bar none
I am a clinical psychologist and an anxiety disorder and OCD specialist. I also teach a course on this topic for graduate students. I have used the first edition as my primary textbook for a number of years. However, more and more I had to supplement it with other books, and explain why specific concepts in it were no longer relevant. I had been waiting for the new edition to come out--hoping it would address the growing deficits of the first edition. This new edition has exceeded my expectations and is nothing short of a work of art (if you are a psychology nerd and can appreciate that sort of thing)! The authors have now integrated inhibitory learning principles throughout and have added Acceptance and Commitment Therapy concepts. It is now as close to a perfect clinical guide for exposure based treatments as I have seen. If you are a therapist and you treat anxiety disorders, this book is a must-read.

A key text!
Very well written chapters on a range of difficulties and processes. The updated version with commentary on inhibitory learning is fascinating. Maybe some additional information on treatment planning and working with complexity would be helpful. This is a text that I will recommend to any budding therapist.
