The Spinnaker model from Sebago is a women's leather loafer. This hand-sewn boat shoe allows to sport true colors with its two or three color upper. It is mounted with an unlined upper in full grain leather, Nubuck or waxed pull-up and closes with a rawhide lace passing through corrosion-resistant brass eyelets. The Spinnaker features a leather insole and Sebago® Docksides™ nautical sole sewn through and through, made of non-slip and non-marking solid rubber. Sebago's Spinnaker brings a new twist to the classic boat style. Vibrant colors make this standard shoe pop, while its classic slotted collar and stitching keep a sophisticated feel. A padded footbed and grippy rubber sole add practicality so that you can set sail in style. Sebago represents authentic products and timeless design. Their original, hand-sewn Docksides boat shoe and Classic Beefroll penny loafer haven’t changed since they first crafted them decades ago. Sebago is a celebration of everything New England…where life in, on or around the waters is a geographical unavoidability. Their shoes are about performance--not just the technical kind, but the way a shoe behaves in its right environment, whether on boats or city streets. Each classic Sebago design is carefully designed to perform at its best. Review: Five Stars - UPDATE: desertcart was quick to credit my account. I have since ordered two more pairs of the Docksider Spinnaker boat shoe and they are a great value for the prices I paid: $49 for the last pair and $62 for the prior. The price disparities on desertcart continue to benefit a comparative shopper, as sales of 80% or more are possible, and 40 - 50% routine on a myriad of products. This is especially true with clothing and shoes, given that certain sizes and colors which are popular can cost more than three to four the price of the same exact item in a less popular color or size. When one considers that oneu can purchase three items for the price one, these savings (especially in these difficult economic times) are truly significant. UPDATE: I recently ordered another pair of these Docksiders, however, they were never delivered. According to some other desertcart customers, desertcart is now using its own delivery service to deliver certain products that are ordered through its Website. A number of desertcart users reported that they never received the products which they ordered under this delivery service. When contacted, desertcart representatives apologized for delays. However, in far too many instances the packages shipped by desertcart through this service weren't just delayed; they never arrived at all. So until desertcart can straighten this situation out, caveat emptor. I have owned these Sebagos for slightly over a year now and they have stood up very well. The suede dye initially bleeds through if it gets wet. (Keep this in mind for all suede shoes you purchase) A few pairs of white socks had blue streaks running through them after the Sebagos got wet. However, the problem appears to have cleared up after the initial bleed through. Apart from this caveat, these boat shoes have stood up well. I wear them daily. Years ago I bought a pair of Sperry Topsiders once a year, and wore them several times a week. By the end of a year they were falling apart. The Sebagos appear to be better stitched. The blue suede has faded a bit, however, I may be able to darken it with some suede cleaner. The leather continues to hold up well. I paid about $78 for these shoes on desertcart last year and just purchased a second pair of the exact same shoe for on desertcart for about $20 less. With the way prices for products on desertcart fluctuate, it pays to comparison shop before you make your purchase. If you are thinking about purchasing a product on desertcart, track it for a week or so. You might be surprised how much the price for the same product can fluctuate; either saving as much as 50%, or costing you significantly more. Earlier.. Very comfortable shoes. Nice and light, with good support. And very pleasant looking. Review: Great shoe! - You can tell they're made with quality leather. The shoe fit as expected straight out of the box. Now, keep in mind that the leather is quite stiff and you'll notice it when you put them on for the first time. Give them some time to break in. Boat shoes are made to worn without socks! They need the natural oils from your feet to soak into the leather and break them in. After some time, they well soften up and somewhat form to your foot. Being in the military, my feet are already quite tough and I've had to break in new boots quite a few times. However they're not boots so I won't put these through any special treatment to try and speed up the break in process. You could soak them in warm water, lotion your feet up before you wear them, or whatever you choose to do but I'd suggest to just wear them as is and give it time to break in. If you have sensitive or weak feet, wear a thin sock or put a bandaid on your heel to prevent any chafing/cuts. Overall, great shoe. They look great. They're comfortable. And they're built to last. Highly suggest. Hope this helps. I'm out.

Great boat shoes
Wore these babies for over a year. They were incredibly beat up and weathered when I was done with them. They wore very well. They were sized as expected (Sebagos come very narrow, so order wider than you think you need). These boat shoes aren't very comfortable and walking in them for extended periods of time can beat up your feet if you're not careful. They also have a bit of a break-in period so limit your wear when you first get them. This decreased comfort is made up for by their durability. They'll last you a very long time if you take care of them.

Excellent Quality Shoe
I worked for Sebago Inc. from 1988-1995 and have owned over 90+ pairs of Sebago shoes, as well as given away tons for gifts and never had one complaint with size or comfort. I may be a little bias but the boat shoes or "Docksiders" as we called them, were all hand stitched and made from absolutely beautiful quality leather. I worked in the International Marketing Dept., so I was fortunate to be able to see many of the styles and colors produced for the European markets, especially France, but not sold in the US markets. The pattern makers had tons of opportunity to experiment and perfect their abilities, which only added to the excellence in quality that Sebago has always been famous for. Sebago has been sold since I worked there, but when I see them in stores I can't resist picking them up and checking out the quality to see if still deserves to have the label Sebago on it, and so far they still appear to be of the same quality that I remember from the Maine hand stitchers work. When you first wear the leather it may seem to be a bit stiff, but the owners and much of the higher management were huge catamaran racers, so they use to tell us to get them wet, preferably in salt water, and they will form to your feet, afterall they are boat shoes. I used to wear mine into the water all the time and they dry out pretty quickly. I still have my blue suede and brown leather docksiders and they fit like a glove. They also look almost as good as the day I bought them and they are 26 years old. Best shoes I ever owned.

NIce Boat shoes ! READ THIS REVIEW FOR SIZING TIPS !!
I am writing this for 1st time buyers of these boat shoes. This is the 1st time i bought boat shoes. I thought i can just buy a pair of 9.5 with no problems. right ? wrong. I 1st purchased the 9.5 M width. Way too skinny & too big too. so then i returned those and got 9.5 W width , then those were way too long. Returned those then finally read somewhere that you should get them a 1/2 size smaller because your not suppose to wear socks with these. SO... i finally got a size 9 Wide ( a size 9 is usually way too tight to wear for me in regular sneakers and what not) and they fit perfect. & still plenty of room at the toe. Hope this helps somebody so they dont have to go through what i went through to get the perfect size boat shoes.

Beautiful shoes! a bit big for my woman feet
These shoes are as everyone else has been describing: hard at first and softer once broken in with water and skin oils (or lotion, as one reviewer recommended). This might be partly my fault for buying a men's shoe as a woman with size 7.5W feet, but it still warrants a mention. When I tried them on right out of the box I could tell it was a bit roomy in there. My heel lifts out of it unless I grip with my toes and jam my heel against the back of it... I know there's no way I could go down a size because the width of these is perfect...any narrower would be a squeeze! My feet don't fall out, and they feel relatively secure for casual walking, so I'm hanging in there. Though I would never walk for more than 15 minutes at a time in these shoes. I hoped that breaking in the leather would solve some of my size problem and so far it has, but only slightly. It is firm, water-protected leather, so it doesn't really change shape or shrink (at least not so far). But I'm satisfied enough with the look and feel of them to hold on a bit longer and I may take them to a cobbler to adjust the size a tad. They really are beautiful shoes!

More than satisfied.
I got my Sebagos Spinnaker in Navy Green Vert, and I couldn't be happier. This is the third pair of Sebagos I own (all of them purchased here on Amazon) and I wasn't totally satisfied at first with my other pairs because they didn't fit exactly the same although I got all of them in the same sizes. I thought I would never buy another pair of docksides again for that reason but one day I just checked the Spinnakers and this particular color dropped in price (I got them for $38-thank you Amazon!-they are $80 today ). This pair of Sebagos in Navy, green, vert turned out to be quite a steal. They look WAY TOO GORGEOUS AND STYLISH. They fit perfectly, and although they are sturdy and a little hard like all my other sebagos, they feel as if they are going to break in easily. The width, which is typically an issue with the Sebagos, was also right this time, but someone with very wide feet might need to look for another brand because this 2E is the widest available and it feels just like regular. With this new pair, I have a nice little collection of Sebago boat shoes. Needless to say, I'm not intending to back to Sperry Top Siders ever again.

Excellent, if you know what you're doing.
These shoes are amazing, if you know just a little bit about yacht shoes. They are meant to be worn without socks, and require the oils and moisture from your feet to break in, which may take a few days. Once they're broken in, they're ridiculously comfortable! Bandage up spots that might cause blisters while you break them in, and put lotion on your feet before you out them on for the first time, it speeds up the breaking in process! Also, I've heard people complain about the design and lack of support. These are not tennis shoes, you're not supposed to go run 5 miles on these. For general wear and fashion, they're great, but don't expect them to work as athletic shoes or anything besides fashion and yachting. Once broken in, you really can feel every bit of the deck of a boat below you, practically like you're barefoot. This is their true purpose, but they work very well for every day use. Excellent product, eligible for prime shipping, very satisfied.
