Why did you pick this product vs others?:We liked this microwave. It worked really well. It was just the right size to be on the counter in the corner of our kitchen. We use several of the quick set buttons often. For the price it is a pretty good microwave, and it heated the food well.The downside, is that today while heating up some frozen broccoli it made a funny sound. We thought it was just vibrating the plate. But the top of the microwave is very hot too. So I guess we are in the market for a new microwave. I'm going to look at reviews and consider a different one.Update. The next day the sound was not there anymore and it doesn't seem to be overheating. I'm glad. I really like this one. Hope to get several more years out of it. I'm surprised so many of the recent reviews are negative.

I can't count how many times I came back ... seeing and comparing with other Microwaves. Reading all the comment to see if it's worth it or not I say to my son I want get a new one if he could take to the store ha they have them Amazon so he searched and said He place one in my cart so went to check it was the same I had been looking at so I said ok I guess this one is it. Black Decker. I was so glad I got this one thanks to my son. Well packed and insulated from any damages. Once opened very nice lookin love the silver and black combination glass place placed inside the microwave it couldn't out of place. Nice size nice features love how it locks after placing the food in and starts right away not noisy like some if you try to open it the door buy pushing the bottom lever it won't open but look at the panel the one that read unlocked it happens to be a child safety feature love I t. For who curious little ones...durability speaks for itself the panel is is very clear to read..time and cooking right on point when set...in for cooking time is accurate don't have to worry. Yes cooking ...or making popcorn or even reheating your left over taste like you just cooked it that same day Meat is tender not hard. I love it and is worth but it. Just reading instructions it does give the exact information how it works even instructions for cleaning the inside no heavy sprays little dish washing and cloth also slightly place place gently in the center it does fall in place. I'm very satisfied with my Microwaves. The price was perfect. I definitely recommend it.

The BLACK+DECKER EM031MB11 Digital Microwave has delivered a quiet and welcome relief from our aged microwave that we so depended on. It does come with the child-proof door locking mechanism engaged; however, it's a simple 2-button sequence to disable if you have a 'no-child' household. The B&D M/W has all the features that you expect from a microwave - kitchen timer, one-touch timer settings, defrost, plate reheating, etc. - this particular B&D model EM031MB11 does NOT have the ability to silence the buzzer/dinger at the end of cooking cycle, kind of a bummer when I'm trying to sneak a late night snack!! The clock display is somewhat dim in full kitchen lighting and difficult to read if you're at an angle to the M/W or just a few feet away. We're 'seniors' and this particular B&D M/W model does not have a 'end-of-timer' notice, the timer just resets to the current clock display - we're forgetful and always asking one another if the M/W was started, our prior M/W conveniently displayed 'END' when the timer cycle completed. One thing of note is that it appears that if the M/W timer is set to any time in excess of 5 minutes, it apparently quits heating during the last 15 seconds of the timer cycle - that particular event doesn't seem to effect the cooking of food, but it should be noted in the Owners Manual!?! Overall, it's taken a bit of getting used to, but we're pleased with the cooking of food and functional capabilities of the BLACK+DECKER EM031MB11 Digital Microwave.

I have been very pleased with this microwave/air fryer/oven. Our microwave had quit working. I had been wanting an air fryer. This was the perfect answer. Despite what some have said, I find it very quiet. Some have complained about the ‘child lock’. It is really not difficult! Come on people. There are lots of presets available and power levels. The setting for french fries is accurate. Sweet potato fries don’t take as long however! Comes with two different heights of racks, a baking pan and a user manual with several charts. I am very satisfied with this purchase. I have no complaints.

In six years this is the third microwave I have had to purchase. The average life span seems to be about two years which is typical for most electronic devices these days. The small size is perfect for my kitchen countertop. Mandated by law, this microwave replaced an older version, comes now with a childproof lock. Children are very curious and often do the opposite of what they are told. I can attest to this personally when I was five years old and my mother told me not to touch the hot iron but I did anyway and that was some lesson! Although my home is now child free it's not a big ordeal to press the two numbers listed on top of the oven and then press the unlock button. I am overall, very happy with my purchase since it heats up evenly, is simple to operate and has a nice slick appearance.
