2010 Jeep grand cherokee srt8. First off. The frame is a solid piece it does not flex, the paint is definitely going to water stain. Not a big deal, I plan on repainting it before I mount it permanently. I had a concern about it leaving no room for my thick fingers to pull the latch, that isn't a concern any longer, plenty of room. Very small deference than with out it. This is a replacement for one I have already mounted that almost stops you from pulling the latch and covers both the county sticker and the state name, that is illegal in most states. This one does not cover the sticker position and although it does cover half of the state name, just small cut out to that section to show the state completely. The video and trigger 1/4" connection are standard for aftermarket devices. I was able to swap it out in 15 minutes. Now the camera view is pretty good, I was surprised, I set the view position facing the Sun, camera was good there to. I give this reverse camera a thick thumbs up. It's really nice for the price.

I had a license plate camera like this (not the same manufacturer) that saw the end of its life. With my F250 long bed, and pulling trailers and boats, this because a must have. I found this one online and it looked just like my last one. Got it in a day and just plugged it right in. Worked like a charm. ***SPECIAL NOTE*** Do read the installation instructions on Amazon (the box did not come with any). I spent a good 2 hours troubleshooting because the image was reversed. That's because this camera is really versatile. You can install it in the front of your vehicle and in the back. If you install it in the back, there are two wires, green and white, that need to be clipped. Only clip the ones you need for your use case. You only need to clip one for rear installation. If you want the grid lines supplied by the camera, you need to clip both. Aside from that little adventure, I am really pleased.

So here is my experience with this Camera. First off, very fast shipping. Got it in the mail 2 days later and installed right away on my 05 Envoy Denali. First thing out of the package you notice is the weight. Its not flimsy and going to blow away in the wind. No I'm talking about this camera has some serious build to it. Made to be out door and take abuse from being mounted on a license plate that is on a trunk or lift gate and gets slammed around daily. Second is the install. Super easy and instructions so clear a child can do it. I don't recommend it , but hey that's your own prerogative if you have children install electrical components (Looks at China). Last is the picture quality. Ive got mine installed onto a 10.1" Eonon Android Head unit. The quality is great and very clear. All those who complain about blurry lines or distortion, check your wiring (maybe a child installed it) or get a better quality screen and quit complaining about the quality on your$26 backup camera that was made overseas by the cheapest bidder. You want a 1080p crystal clear view from behind? either fork out the money for an upgrade or turn your head around. Overall this is a great buy. Its not expensive and is easy to install if you know how to connect a TV and use a pair of pliers and screwdriver. I would by this again and probably will for my wifes Murano. Can’t complain, cameras very clear. It was easy to put on the license plate. The frame is really strong and wire installation was pretty easy.

My truck had this type of backup camera installed when I bought it in June of 2019. I have no idea how long it had been there. Two months ago, it started acting funky; the video equivalent of a very dusty vinyl record for those who remember those days. I found this one and ordered it, hoping it would work without me having to pull wire all the way to the dash. It couldn't have worked out better. Exact replacement. Identical form and fit. Ten minutes to swap out with all pigtail connections about a foot from plate. A couple of zip ties and some electrical tape were all I had to add. Bonus that I wasn't expecting is the marker lines on the display. I always wanted them. There is a small loop of green wire on one of the connections that enables the markers. I made sure it is safely protected by several layers of tape.

Update - less than 2 months later, it's completely dead. Original review - I had a license plate camera exactly like this one that suddenly failed. While this model looks identical and does function, the quality is significantly lower than the one I had. The picture is very low quality and has a lot of grain and distortion. While trying to adjust the angle of the camera, one of the Allen key screws became tilted in place and will not move. I can still see what's behind me, but this prevents me from having the angle I want. The instruction manual is an extremely incoherent waste of paper, I've seen bad translated from Chinese manuals, but this one is definitely has the most nonsensical array of words crammed together. I gave 3 stars because it was inexpensive and serves it's function as a rear camera, but this really should be better.

I broke one that came with a radio. Really wasn’t that great either. Fast forward did some looking and some research, found this full license plate mount with camera. This is perfect. Get a full picture when backing to my trailers and is fully adjustable. Has a clear view. Hooked right up to my existing wiring

First off, if you are installing it on a car built after like 1993, you're going to need a voltage rectifier to power it off your reverse lamp. Not an expensive item, but just ridiculous they didn't provide one, or have one built into the camera. They also didn't bother to provide a grommet for the hole you're going to have to drill in the bodywork, so good luck finding one of those. It's not an IR camera, so you really can't see anything behind you at night. The lens is flat instead of spherical, so the view angle is pretty poor. It's closer to 70 than 170. It's also VERY low resolution; looks like about 320 or so to me. Additionally, there's no way to turn off the guide lines from the camera. Cutting the green line doesn't do anything. The instructions are terrible. They tell you to leave the ground wire on the power cable open...apparently these guys are also in the automotive fuse manufacturing business? The construction is the only strong point. Super heavy duty; all metal. Time will tell how good the water proofing is, but I didn't see any obvious flaws. Holes are aligned correctly for a standard US plate.

As it suggests, put your license plate fitted over your license plate put the screws back in and done as for wiring it not as bad as I thought it would be

It has been installed now for 10 months and the picture is great, when very bright out it is sometimes hard to see may need more adjustment
