Good but has it's flaws
Took this up to Northstar on a powder day with continuous snow fall. (Awesome day btw!) I have the over the helmet fit.FIT: The fit was great over my helemt. It was windy and it stayed on even though it has a loose fit on my helmet. I liked that part of it, but the portion that covers your face was also loose. It never stayed in place on my face. So when I rode I would either have to bite down on it or tuck it into my goggles which would cause my googles to fog up like crazy. Definitely something I didn't like about this product. I wish there was also a draw cord for the mask so that it would stay in place.WARMTH AND WIND PROTECTION: Now the Burke was actually warm over my helmet and when I held the mask in place on the ski lift. It was actually very warm considering it was total white out conditions and windy. On top of that it offered good wind protection as long as the mask stayed in place.Waterproofing: It helped me stay dry for sure, but the snow that accumulated on top would freeze of course becayse of the cold conditions. But when it started melting during breaks it would absorb the moisture and it would get really heavy. (definitely not for a stormy day but great for any dry day).Overall it's a well made product with good materials. Kept my head warm but the mask wouldn't stay in place and my face would freeze during runs. Not for a stormy day. It looks cool though. Now give the mask a draw string and I'd probably buy it again, but for now it's alright.

Works great but not wind proof
A great hood! So glad I purchased it. I was looking for a hooded balaclava that would fit over a ball cap with a knit cap, kind of like the hood on a hooded sweatshirt. This would allow me to ditch the hoodie as a layer. This works perfectly. Fits well and roomy. I didn’t give a 5th star because the portion that covers the face is a little loose and would have been great to have a way to tighten as an option. Also it isn’t windproof and a slightly thicker fleece would’ve great. I understand this is made for snowboarding thus it’s made to not be too bulky and the expectation is you’d have layers and a helmet on under. Was on a boat trip on Lake Erie with temps in the 30’s and light, all day rain and this hood worked great. Didn’t get waterlogged and kept me warm. Well worth the $25 price tag. Especially compared to the 6+, $8-$15 hoods from Amazon I tried before getting this one.

Soaks up water (snow) like a dish towel
You know those camp towels that feel like fleece but soak up water? I think this hood is made out of the same material. After a day of snowboarding in dumping down snow weather my son's Burton hood was frozen solid like an icicle and once in the warm car was full of an incredible amount of water. After rinsing and wringing out at home it was still damp in the morning and we live in Colorado where everything dries over night. Although this material feels like fleece which is normally rather water repellent and quick to dry it is obviously a very different and poor choice of materials for winter, snow wear. Great functional design with one fatal flaw. If you want a fleece helmet hood buy a different brand. It likely works better for warmth on non-snow days but really, what is the point.

Warm, NOT wind proof
Loooooove this!!! It's warm and doubles as a mask while I'm out and about. When I pull it off my head, it just looks kinda like a scarf. Only thing to note is that is zero percent wind proof, so if you're out in the elements - you'll need something underneath it to keep your ears warm. Being that it is fleeceish, that's expected - but thought it was worth a mention.

Great hood that will fit over your helmet (L or otherwise)
My helmet is snug (in a L so I have a big head), and even small gaiters or thin balaclavas would add enough to give me a headache. This fits right over my helmet with easy access to goggles and flipping up the face cover. I've worn it in 8*F and windy and it held up great. I'll be using this anytime it's cold enough.

Love it
Best money I’ve spent this season. Fits over my helmet. Soft, warm and comfortable. I love that the mask isn’t tight on my face so it leaves plenty of room to breathe/speak comfortably and Doesnt get wet from my breath. All my friends want one now. Definitely recommend.

Super nice hood
This hood is awesome! It fits perfectly over my helmet and is warm. It’s super soft and breathable and doesn’t help my breathe fog my goggles because there’s lots of room in it.

Great Quality!
I'm excited to use it this season! It fits perfectly over my helmet and has pull cords to make it a little bit tighter if necessary! The quality is really nice and cozy! Would recommend!

Definitely Recommend
I love this hood! It is way better than wearing your jacket hood cause it gives you more visibility and mobility when riding. It keeps me warm and also works as a face mask, which is now a requirement on the mountain!
