Very happy
Only three rides in, but I love it. I’m a big guy and the fit is a light tight around the ol’ gut, but venting has been spot on and even though I’m sweating a lot, I’m staying dry. That was my biggest worry, not the rain soaking through the jacket, but a big guy like me working out and drenching myself. Hasn’t happened yet, I would highly recommend this jacket… haven’t put it through a rain ride yet, but Eugene will give me plenty of chances soon hopefully.

Kept me dry! I used same brand jacket, ...
Kept me dry! I used same brand jacket, pants and foot covers. I used it for a 10 day, 1,000 mile cross country bike bike ride. It rained intermittently for 5 of the days and several of the days I rode in the rain for greater than 5 hours at a time. Breathable? I did get moist from sweat under the rain gear but nothing compared to having no rain gear. A thin layer of wool clothing helped. Cold once the sun went down but not an issue with the gear. It is a shell, add under layers to keep warm. It's my first cycling rain gear so don't know what to compare it to. I did one previous ride with a military issued gortex rain pants which seemed to work very similar except the gortex pants were much bulkier. However, the gortex pants were not intended for cycling and I have no idea if a gortex cycling rain gear is any heavier/bulkier.2. Fit Perfectly. I'm 5ft 8 in tall, wt. 225 lbs. Many cycling gear sizing is extremely small. I can wear a large shirt at standard retail clothing brands but in many cycling brands I require 3XL-5XL. Showers Pass jacket sizing fit me as a standard retail shirt, coat . I tried both L and XL. Both of which could work but the Large fit perfectly.

best 3-season/winter cycling jacket bar none
I'm a year round North West cyclist on the commute, cyclocross, mtb, long road rides as well as hiking and climbing. I'm a gear nut. Good gear is important, bad gear makes it suck. I'm hard on things, so I go through a lot of rain gear. Showers pass elite 2.1 is the best out there for fall/winter/early spring bar none. I only wear rain-gear in the rain. NOTHING has been as comfortable in the cold rain. The forward-ish side zips, large cuffs, back vent keep airflow going when I want it. That and event 3xlayer is the most breathable option out there, better than goretex, much better than all the 2.5x layer designs that are clammy and can't last. This is the driest option for the wet-cold. Yet I can ride hard with the best breath-ability possible. Best I've had. In summer I go thinner lighter with a racing kit but that doesn't work in fall/winter here in the rainy NW. So when my elite 2.0 was stolen, I got the elite 2.1. wow, even better with an adjustable higher neck cuff and hood attachment option. Super well made. Its expensive but I won't be making excuses not to head out

Five Star Jacket, One Star Zipper
This is my second Showers Pass Elite rain jacket. The new 2.1 appears to have all of the features that made me love my first one with one exception, the zipper.I should start by saying that this may only be of interest to US or North America buyers of the men’s model. My first Elite jacket has a substantial water and wind resistant two-way right-handed zipper. The 2.1 model has a different one-way, left-handed zipper plus a flap of fabric to help block anything that gets through (see other review regarding zipper). When asked about the left-handed zipper on men’s jacket, SP responded saying that this is in line with the “rest of world” standard and that the US market is the last holdout. For as long as I’ve been zipping up jackets, including every other garment I own today, the zipper is right handed. Once started, it doesn’t make much difference, but when I’m beginning a descent on my bike, I don’t want to have to remember how to zip up my jacket. As a Supply Chain professional, I am convinced SP’s motivation is financial in an effort to lower operating and inventory costs. It costs money to maintain two separate product lines, one for the US market, and one for everywhere else. Somehow, many other cycling clothing manufacturers are managing to absorb the cost.So U.S. (and Canada?) gentlemen, if you don’t mind which side your zipper is on, or if you’re ready to join the rest of the world, then rest assured, this is probably still a great cycling rain jacket.

Outstanding Construction Similar to (But Not Quite As Refined As) Arc’teryx
This jacket — for hundreds less than Arc’teryx — provides virtually the same utility for everyday use while riding in the rain (or other light-duty wear).Quality built with waterproof zippers and a nice finishing-touch pocket for the zipper at the neck so you don’t get a chilly zipper part against your skin. The pockets are well-placed and useful — though I have had challenges with the zipper on the rear being difficult to operate while wearing the coat. The shoulder venting and, especially, the under-arm vents are perfect, ejecting the heat generated during a bicycle ride so you do not end up a sopping mess despite stopping the rain.I come back to comparing it to Arc’teryx. It is not that brand, obviously; and not as sophisticated as that brand. But for the price, it sure comes awfully close.I bought a Large.

Awesome ! I can't wait for the cold weather!
Was out in 40-50 degree temps today with 15-25 mph winds and I felt great. Side vents helped a lot as temps started rising. (I had under armor on under my Jersey). Sleeves are a little long but when riding they feel just right. I bought size XXL and It's a little big on my arms as I'm only 5'7" and about 230 ( i like food, lol. ) my barrel shape makes finding cycling clothes difficult. But it's good everywhere else , so if you are taller and thinner than me the xxl should be good too. As reference I'm in between xl and xxl on voler club fiy Jersey (top and bottom) I'm and in between xxl and xxxl on primal Jersey (not sure on fit) hope this helps! Side vents have easy zippers , rear vent is open, has availability on adding a hood, front pocket with opening to inside to allow headphones (even though i dint recommend that while riding) , sleeves have nicely sized openings for winter gloves to be worn and velcro adjustment. This is absolutely worth the price!

Expensive but good
Although this item was pricey, it is very well made. The design is great for cycling. The elongated back makes sure your lower back stays covered and the long sleeves don’t ride up too far when you lean forward to hold the handlebars. It is fairly breathable and very waterproof. I went mountain biking with it on. It wasn’t raining but it was only 13 C. Under the jacket I wore a long sleeve jersey and long leg cycling pants. I wasn’t cold at all nor was I sweating from the “plastic bag” effect. My only complaint is that there is only one pocket. I am 5’10” 180 lbs and large fit well. Maybe a tad big but in riding position feels great. I don’t like riding in the rain but I’m eager to see how well it performs in truly wet conditions.

THE cycling jacket!
This jacket is very comfortable. I like how it covers the whole neck. The longer arm sleeves are long enough.I went biking three times with it so far (Ext temp ranging 3-6 degrees celsius). My only regret is not buying it sooner...
