Really great story and illustrations. Tells a great story about how giving is always better than receiving. A great Christmas story.

This was a really good book. I used it in my 1st grade classroom and my students loved it! Was able to talk about some good character traits and how characters evolved through the story.

Go Auntie Claus!
I loved this female perspective on Christmas--my daughter's name is also Sophie which made it even more special. I was trying to teach her about the value of giving presents and loved having a great female role model in the form of Auntie Claus to help me along. She is so effortlessly sophisticated but at the same time a giver and a hard worker. We do voices when we read this, which my Sophie loves!!

HO!HO!HO! Terrific Christmas story!
I love this book! The illustrations are fabu, dahling, and the story is top-notch. A cross between Eloise and Auntie Mame with a Christmas twist thrown in, this is the next Christmas classic. Auntie Claus has a mysterious job that keeps her away from home from Halloween until Valentine's Day. Little Sophie decides that it's time that she discover Auntie Claus' secret, and in the process learns the secret of giving as well. This story just couldn't be better. It is an original story that kids just love.

Wonderful story
This is a great book for children who are ready to read more complex stories, but still need pictures to help their comprehension. My daughters (aged 6 and 7) found the story quite hard to understand the first time round, but the pictures kept them going. The vocabulary is a bit more challenging and the sentences are longer than in beginner's books. It is an excellent book, if you want to practice comprehension with them. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is fantastic.
