Versatile low profile box
I got this box for carrying skis and other gear for my Subaru Outback, and wanted a low profile as my garage door and ceiling are pretty low. This box fits well as it is low but pretty wide so easily carries 4 sets of skis and poles and could handle some additional stuff. And the ability to open from either side is essential. The mounting system is very good as there are 4 clamps that push through 4 rubber seals in the box that run along a set of 4 tracks, so the clamps can be used anywhere along those tracks ranging from about 16 inches front to back if the roof bars are close to nearly 43 inches apart. The clamps are adjustable so can be tightened to close over a variety of bars, and the clamps fit the oval bars on the outback very well. This part of the system is definitely 5 star. I also like the idea that the clamps have handles with fairly big holes so you can snug down your skis or other cargo with bungee cords or straps so they don't slide around. I thought the little straps included were cr@p so I substituted some bungee cords that work great. The locking mechanism is ok, as you first have to insert the key and turn it to unlock, then depress the button, and then you can push up the lid of the box. It works ok, but sometimes the button is a little difficult and grabbing the edges of the box can also be a little tough, particularly if your hands are wet and cold from handling skis, etc. I like the idea that the key has to be used, but 5 stars means it can't get any better, and this could be easier. Mine also collected water from the snow on the skis and it pooled in the front and back and froze during the nights. After it softened, I picked up the ice and threw it out. Not sure if there should be a drain or not.As to wind noise, cargo boxes do make a difference but this one is pretty quiet due to the low profile. On my car, it is quiet up to about 70 and then becomes noticeable. So I either draft another vehicle or turn up the music when things are moving fast. The good news is that it is very light and the clamps are great, so I take it of when not likely to use it, although I did mark the box and rubber seals so I can put the box back exactly where it was since I positioned it carefully the first time.

Great low profile box!
Ordered this box because we needed a box that would fit on my Honda Pilot as I pulled into my garage. Thule and Yakima don't make one this low profile. Installed very quickly and easily using my factory cross bars. Only have had for a few weeks but it seems to be well built and constructed. It has a nice high gloss finish and I've gotten quite a few comments on how sleek it looks! Opens well on both sides with locks included. Only down side in my opnion is that you must use the key to unlock the box everytime you want to open it. Overall, I would recommend!

Looks good, works great.
My family loves this rooftop box. We use it for skiing and easily stow 5 pairs of skis plus some jackets and the occasional soggy pair of boots and a snow shovel. Plenty of room for a low profile box. The memory clamps make installation or removal a 5 minute job. The dropped front and back areas lower the box over the roof rails and eliminate any wind noise. My car is quieter with this box on it than with the roof rails alone. No complaints been using it for over a year and love it.UPDATE: Now with two ski seasons of use with this rooftop box I can happily say I would not replace or change anything about it. We love it. It is so much better looking than any other box out there. I constantly get compliments on it. I can install or remove it quickly, by myself, if needed. The best part, other than all the listed features, is we don't really see a major change in our gas mileage when it is on the car meaning we typically leave it on all season. If you are a skiing family and you don't want some ugly bubble on the roof of your car this is box for you.

Good looking and easy to install box
This box lived up to my expectations. It is low profile, has a nice finish and sleek look that works well on my A4. It is low enough to fit into most parking garages and easy to install. Since it opens on both sides, it is easy to load with skis and has enough room to hold 4 pair of 'wide' skis and poles. I recommend it.

The perfect roof box
This roof box is near perfect. I've had it mounted to my subaru crosstrek for about 10,000 miles now, maybe even more. I've driven with it across the country, over 2,000 in one go and there wasn't any issues with the box. It holds snowboards, skis and a ton of other gear. Its surprisingly spacious and fits more than you'd expect... Its great for hauling extra gear when running low on room in the cabin. It also looks super sharp. There are a lot of boxes I've seen that are necessarily tall or bulky, but this one fits smaller cars and SUVs well. The space is limited compared to a much taller and longer box but the performance and looks and room needed for me puts this box in the sweet spot. I would recommend it even though its a bit more costly than others.

Great LITTLE box
We just returned from a six week long, camping road trip covering 3400 miles. We have a 2005 Prius that would be hauling husband, me, and our 40 lb dog; as well as all of our clothes, camping gear (we use a 11x11 foot tent and a 2 burner stove) a 40 # size vittles vault of dog food, my husband's CPAP machine and attendant batteries, and an Astroscan telescope. The cargo box held the tent, the screen house, the queen sized air mattress, extra blanket, and less used odds-n-ends. That allowed us to put everything else in the car without obstructing the drivers rear view, and leaving a 3x4 ft space for the dog. The box was a champ. Very little wind noise. Most of the trip our gas milage was between 44-46mpg, down from our usual 48-50; but I believe that was because of the heavy load, not because of changes in the aerodynamics. It was perfect for our needs.
