It appears you can't choose the color - is it one color only that is sent? If so which color?

cotopaxis whole brand is that they use recycled nylon from big brands. it's the scraps, basically. this means they don't have one color design, but that doesn't make it any less cool. I personally love the individuality and have multiple cotopaxi products.

Could the lid stay tucked back behind it so it could be used for foraging berries/mushrooms?

I guess this wouldn't work because the bag is soft and collapsible when empty, you would lose all the berries

There is no key clip on mine (ordered in 2020 so this may have changed.). There are 2 elastic trimmed interior mesh pockets.
