Excellent disposable blade cutter
These are an excellent product, somewhere between the standard throw-away types and the metal utility knives. The handle is comfortable to hold and the 18mm blade is sturdy and incredibly sharp. These are disposable box knives, for use of people who tend to lose them (like me). They are not as strong as a utility knife but are stronger than the lighter weight box knife.I tried out some of the 1-star complaints. These are not as sturdy as metal box cutters but seem sturdy enough. I deliverately knocked it off my table saw a dozen times with no problems, even dropped it on the handle cap from 5' up. I tried snapping the blade with a pair of pliers. It broke clean so I don't understand the "one use blade" complaint. Maybe his snapped crooked? I wouldn't carry one of these in my pocket but the blade lock seems to work OK even after the abuse.

Might be the best on Amazon - it depends on your use.
Update: After a week or so using the Nicpro knives I've become somewhat disappointed. The thick blade makes cutting cardboard much more difficult than the thin blades on the Tape King. They may be fine for other tasks but slicing up the boxes that Jeff Bezos sends me nearly every day is not their forte. Time to order a box of Tape Kings....A couple years ago I did a comparison review of four breakaway knives and found the Tape King box cutters were the best and best value for me. It's the first review for that knife as apparently 34 people found it of value. There were only a couple left from the original dozen so I shopped again. Amazon's Choice was this Nicpro 15 count with an extra 30 blades which, assuming you don't lose the plastic holder, ends up being 45 knives. Even if you don't use the extra blades these knives are still about a dime cheaper. Being the tight wad I am I splurged and ordered these and hoped they would be as good. A dime is still a dime.Good news and maybe some not quite as good but I'm not sure yet. The plastic holder, lock mechanism, etc. is identical to the Tape King. I mean Eggs Ackley the same (Eggs was a former neighbor and chicken farmer). They're plenty sturdy, easy to grip and unless you do something you probably shouldn't with them they'll last until you lose them.On the other hand the metal blades are not the same which may or may not matter to you. The blades on the Nicpro are about 50% thicker than on the Tape King - (0.057" vs 0.034"). For some, possibly most things, that might not matter. If you're slicing up cardboard boxes it does. The thin blade slices through cardboard much more easily than a thick blade. I've only tried the Nicpro on a couple plain cardboard boxes and it worked OK. It'll be Come to Jesus time with the first paper coated or double wall box I run into. My bride has a thing going with Amazon so more testing will be coming shortly. The only fault I find with the Nicpro or Tape King is the black cover in the back that one removes to insert a new blade will eventually come off and get lost. Not a big deal as the knife works without it but it would be nice if that didn't happen.Fun fact - One of the things that makes your box cutter suddenly go "dull" is slicing through packaging tape. The adhesive sticks to the blade which makes the blade stick to the box you're trying to cut. A piece of rag moistened with Pro Goof Off will wipe that gunk off and the blade will be like new again.

handy little knives
These are especially good for cutting large, soft things, like styrofoam or foam blocks. You can stick the blade way out, for getting all the way through something thick, all in one pass. That's mostly what I use these for.Or you can use them as a regular knife and periodically break off the tip, to expose a sharp new tip.I got this whole case for not much more than buying one here or locally.
