Perfect part for faucet.
This accessory went with the Grohe faucet which we bought for our sink.

Very nice trim piece for single hole faucet on a three hole sink.
These are a perfect match for the Grohe faucet I bought to replace our kitchen faucet. The chrome finish is very bright and shiny. The escutcheon for the faucet I am replacing feels cheap and tinny iin comparison with this one. It never felt completely secure on the sink since I installed it about eight years ago. This one is made of quite heavy material and has good support underneath so the faucet feels much more secure than the old one.

Great quality, best design
This is the best baseplate I could find. All I see on it shows a great engineering care in the design. I am an engineer so I appreciate the difference attention to details produces. First it starts from the low profile. Couple that with the inner gaskets and plastic base it contributes to a tight fitting which is very important when hooking up heavy faucets. If you try saving on this and get a cheap copy cat you are bound to have the following: 1. water leak into the cabinet from poor sealing on the base. 2. Rust on the baseplate from metal to metal contact with the sink 3. cheap wobbly faucet looks So I recommend you buy this if you want quality and do not want to waste time and money (if asking someone to install for you).

Overpriced, but very good
They're certainly pricey, but the quality is top-notch and they match the manufacturer's specifications perfectly.

Fixed
After reading previous reviews I was concerned that the escutcheon plate was going to be flimsy. Not so. It seems like Grohe has fixed the problem stated by other reviewers. The plate comes with a plastic frame the goes under the plate in addition to a rubber gasket for support. Now when tightening down the faucet the plate doesn't bend anymore. It stays perfectly flat. I highly recommend this plate if you need to cover unused mounting holes.

Exactly what I needed!
Directions were certainly unclear, but you literally just need to take a minute and visualize how it would rationally go together and you are good. If you need any assistance let me know and I can add some pictures / details.

Nice looking base plate.
I ordered this to go with a Starlight Chrome Grohe faucet. Unfortunately the faucet was defective and I was unable to use it so I sent the plate back. It was a very nice looking plate however.

Same finish as Grohe Cosmo Euro faucet. Had to shim/support around center hole to prevent bending when installing faucet .
Changed out our bathroom faucet from a 2 handle with center spout, to a single handle and purchased this to cover the 2 holes on the counter that we'd no longer be using. Our new faucet is a Grohe Euro Cosmopolitan, so I purchased this so finishes would match. It works, it's the correct size and finish, but 2 star deduction because the material is really thin and easily bent. Granted, once in place, it shouldn't be subject to being damaged, but during the installation process, our contractor showed me the he had to jury-rig support between the plate and the counter top so it wouldn't flex and bend when he tightened the faucet. The plate is about 1/4 inch high and formed like a shell so there is hollow space between the plate face and the counter top. When our contractor tightened the faucet down, the plate bent down toward the counter top under only that much pressure. If you just place it on a table an push down around the center hole with your fingers, it will give and sag, so it's understandable how the tension of tightening a faucet would do the same. He cut a couple plastic shim pieces and placed them on either side of the plate (covering the two holes this plate also covers), placed this plate on top of them, then as he tightened the faucet down again, the plate no longer bent under the tension. All that said, it's a $7 fix that looks nice, allowed us to upgrade our faucet without having to replace the entire counter top.

Much better quality than most other 'brand' name plates that i've purchased in the past

I'm very happy with this plate since we already had holes from our old top but I didn't like that my tap came 2 weeks before the plate so we couldn't install the new tap until it came.

Pros - Fits perfectly GROHE faucets, many cheap escutcheons have bigger holes that make it impossible to have proper seal under faucet; - Excellent chrome finish; - Sturdy plastic insert with foam sealer all around. Prevents metal from bending too much when faucet installed and tightened; - The mounting "bolts" are removable, so you can use this escutcheon with 1, 2 or 3 holes; - This escutcheon is slightly bigger than most, which is perfect for kitchen renovation if you have discoloration on countertop under the old faucet. Cons - The mounting system attaches plastic insert, not the metal shell. The escutcheon itself is only held by faucet. It comes slightly arched in the middle to better fit the surface, but if over-tightened the sides may raise a little. I recommend using just a bit of plumber's putty around installed plastic insert (not on top of it!) before placing escutcheon in place.
