I passed my PMP exam on Saturday, August 8, 2015; and, am confident that I successfully answered all of the Contract questions correctly because I read and completed the problems in this book.My real appreciation for having acquired this book occurred when I was approaching the fourth hour of the exam. Three contract questions popped up and I was relieved for the break! Due to the repetition and practice, I knew instinctively if a Contract was Fixed Price, Cost Reimbursable, or Time and Materials; and, all of the variations. I knew why and when each contract would be used, and why the buyer or seller had the majority of risk. I was able look at a graph or read a question and describe the type of contract based on the information provided because I now understand the principles behind each contract.I learned the most from the book when I solved a problem incorrectly. The author walked me through a detailed explanation of not only how to solve the problem, but why my solution may have been incorrect.I am grateful to the author, Aileen Ellis for dedicating her time and effort to developing this book as a study aid for those of us (in my case am now a PMP) who are sincerely interesting in becoming a PMP.

I purchased this book because there were so few places on the internet that would give you a lot of practice doing these calculations in a single place.The book comes in three parts: learning material, 50 questions, and the respective answers.Just like mathematics, it requires practice to get the process down. At first, I wasn’t sure about the number of questions. But after going through the book, it is the sweet spot of being the right number. Not all of the questions are calculable questions. There are questions that test your knowledge on the differences between the contract types.I completed the book over 5 days (10 questions a day) really helped solidify the knowledge. It is TOO easy to rush through the book and store the skills in short term memory. Patience grasshopper! Spanning over several days moved everything to long term memory.I have purchased Mrs. Ellis’s Earned Value book. I could copy and paste this review for that as well.There is no doubt that I will get these questions right and quickly on the PMP.Tl;dr:Very good book that will prepare you for any contract question on the PMP.

I highly recommend Aileen Ellis's material. My aunt is a PMP and gave me the book on Earned Value questions because it was really helpful to her. This book helped me to really understand how to calculate contract questions while preparing for my PMP Certification. Project Procurement Management is a tough subject. She does a wonderful job of breaking the material down! I highly recommend this book and the You Tube videos that go along with it. I set a goal to complete this book within 5 days and did so. I reviewed it again before my exam with ease. I was able to answer the questions on the exam I purchased one other books in her miniseries as well. I highly recommend this book, the one on Network Diagrams and Earned Value questions. Of course there are others, but I needed help in these areas. Thank you Aileen Ellis and of course, my Aunt J., for the introducing my to Aileen.

Practice makes perfect, and with familiarity comes confidence. Aileen explains the different types of contracts, their uses, the procurement documents that are associated with them, and builds the understanding that is so critical to getting contract calculation questions correct on the PMP exam, as knowing what kind of contract with which you are working is key to this successful outcome. Amazingly, this process does not take a long time when the student is presented with the information in a clear, no-nonsense presentation as Aileen does *and* is given example after example to consider and to practice. I wish I had discovered her PMP study materials and method much sooner - but did not discover them "too late". If you are struggling with contracts and calculation questions and time is of the essence - I recommend you order this text and practice book to make the most of your study hours.Update: I passed my PMP exam today and am confident I answered all of this type of question correctly.

Useful for the practice questions. The author has some good youtube vids. Most of the material is available elsewhere, but I bought it for the practice question

I recently passed the PMP exam with the expert guidance of Aileen Ellis' trio of books: How to get every earned value question right on the PMP exam, How to get every network diagram question right on the PMP exam and How to get every contract calculation question right on the PMP exam.Each book is a quick read establishing parallels between theory and practice. The sample questions spanned the most basic concepts to the most complex. Utilizing Aileen's books give me the confidence needed to pass complex areas of the exam in a short period of time. I highly recommend these books to anyone requiring focus on these aspects of the exam.

I faced the PMP exam and passed it. All the questions that are there in this book simply helps the reader to be prepared for any type of question. This book helped me to increase my confidence for these type of questions. Its funny, but I was longing for question in this format because I was soo confidant. The author has provided help links, even demos, which is very helpful. I would recommend any one who is planning to face the PMP exam to go though this book any time :-)

I think this is a great mini-book, very useful for studying for the PMP exam. The book consists of a short overview of the topic, although I think it would be more helpful to know the material before you buy this book. It's a good refresher though and then it jumps right into 50 questions and answers. For some the questions might seem repetitive but this is the best way to learn and memorize formulas. I didn't take the PMP test yet but I'm hoping this mini-book will help me as that day is arriving quickly. I hope Aileen Ellis puts out more mini-books soon to address all the topics on the exam.

This book and her other mini books on Earned value and time will help you pass the exam. Make sure you get these books since these areas are mostly done poorly on the PMP exam.

Ce sont de bons exercices, la présentation est vraiment basique et il y en a finalement assez peu. Mais la raison pour laquelle je mets cette note et qu'on joue un peu sur votre crainte de l'examen. Je n'ai pas eu une seule question approchant de près ou de loin la difficulté des questions présentées ici lors du passage de la certification PMP.
