Lovely and well-constructed.
*Update-note to Manufacturer: Quality Control should be reviewed: 1. stitching uneven 2. canopy pattern consistently misaligned.Still a lovely product.Excellent mechanism. Fabric a little thinner than expected, but keeps the weight in check for commuter umbrella. Lovely, artful, unique design by NUNO/Japanese design studio in the Black & White. Good 5 year warranty.

You get what you pay for
I was not comfortable paying this much money for an umbrella, but I think this is ultimately a better deal than a lot of others out there. In the past, I've had a hard time getting the release latch at the top of the handle to engage. With terribly arthritic hands, elbows and shoulders, I needed an umbrella that had an automatic-open-button AND an automatic release when I wanted to close it up. This works great! It's certainly a very sturdy, wind-resistant piece, and the construction is definitely high quality.

best brand on the market
I encountered Knirps compact umbrellas while living in Europe. They are the best on the market - lightweight and durable - and come in many basic colors and attractive patterns. This model is offered here at a reasonable price for such a high-quality umbrella.

All on the odds of a workable umbrella
What’s the purpose of an umbrella? To keep you dry during the rain. This little guy will do that. It is expensive, but worth it with its construction. The shaft is sturdier than most umbrellas and doesn’t buckle or move with high wind bursts. Is this better than say 5 to 10 cheap umbrellas? Nope, chances are that out of those 5 to 10 one will always work well. But I can’t carry 5 to 10 cheap umbrellas constantly so I’ll take the better built umbrella over the cheap model in hopes it doesn’t collapse when it rains. The odds that this umbrella will be useable and functional over a cheap umbrella is higher, hence the better chance that when it is raining at 5AM and I get to work, I will be dry and look professional for the rest of the day

worth every penny
took this on a trip overseas to a country known for rainy weather. interestingly enough it only rained one time the whole week I was there. but I looked very cool carrying this thing around so I just kept it open most of the time anyway. locals definitely gave me some good looks of approval. So stylish !

broken spine/spoke
Normally Knirps is excellent quality, but after only 4 months, one of the spokes on this umbrella is broken, not closing properly. It seems less sturdy, lower quality parts than the last Knirps I had, which lasted many years. Very disappointed in this one.

Schönes Design
Der gute Ruf der Marke, das Design und die positiven Reviews hatten mich zum Kauf bewogen. Ich habe noch zwei weitere (Stock-)Schirme, die sehr groß und stabil sind und häufiger benutzt werden. Diesen kleinen Taschenschirm habe ich manchmal mitgenommen, wenn es nach leichtem Regen aussah, tatsächlich benutzt wurde er vielleicht 10-15 mal bei leichtem Regen und Windstille oder sehr leichtem Wind.Und nun lässt sich das Gestänge nicht mehr hineinschieben. Immer wieder probiert - nichts zu machen. Damit ist der Schirm nicht mehr benutzbar, da er sich erst nach Zusammenschieben des Gestänges wieder aufspannen ließe.Die Sterne gibt's für das schöne Design und die Materialien. Der Stoff trocknet schnell, der Schirm ist leicht und lässt sich angenehm halten. Stabilität kann mangels Erfahrung nicht bewertet werden, Qualität/Haltbarkeit ist zumindest bei meinem Exemplar leider eher nicht gut gewesen.

Die Verarbeitung ist ist wie bei Knirps üblich gut.Allerdings stimmt das Stoffmuster überhaupt nicht mit dem Produktfoto überein, siehe Fotos.Neben der Marke Knirps ist ja gerade das Muster kaufentscheidend.Bei dem aufgerufenen (hohen) Preis sollte schon alles stimmen.Deshalb nur 2 Sterne von mir.

Expected a bit more for such expensive umbrella
Good quality, excellent look. Happy with the hardware but the canopy is a little thin. It's big but not heavy. Folding is easy. It's a little expensive for an umbrella so hope the mechanism and everything will last.

Der Schirm ist hochwertig verarbeitet. Aus- und Einfahren auf Knopfdruck funktioniert jederzeit problemlos.Duch seine kompakten Abmessungen ist er leicht mitzunehmen, bietet aber dennoch für 2 Personen ausreichend Platz.Der Preis ist zwar "ambitioniert", ist in Anbetracht der wirklich guten Qualität aber durchaus angemessen.Klare Kaufempfehlung!
