A must for those involved in the design of PC boards.
A wealth of information regarding a vast array of different techniques associated with transmission line theory and design. An excellent blend of theory with practical applications especially if you are interested in PCB design. This is a reference book packed with design techniques starting with transmission line theory and covering paired wires, all manner of coaxial lines and much more dealing with microstrip, stripline in all of their varieties. A lot of information also in dealing with discontinuities including the effects of vias. This is a one stop reference for anyone interested in knowing the why and how of transmission lines.

Missing many variables needed to complete deriving structures.
Many of the structures are missing at least one of the variables needed to complete the synthesis. As a result, you will need to go onto the IEEE Explore web site and pay $14 for the full article referenced at the end of each section. For the reason the articles are very accurately sourced, this keeps the book from getting one star.So far most of the more intricate coaxial and coupling structure I have attempted has failed for this reason. I have not attempted coplanar or waveguide structures, so I cannot comment. I have attempted round transmission line separated by ground planes (missing w equation), round coupled lines in rectangular coax (missing y equation) to name a couple.Otherwise this book would be five stars easily. Provides critical design equations without too heavy derivation. A strong algebra background is sufficient.

loaded with formulas, but difficult to use
I got the book to calculate capacitance and self impedance of different TLs. It seems to have all the formulas in it. Problem is these formulas are very bulky, some taking more than a whole page. When copying formulas from the book into Matlab / Excell / etc., it would be good to have a way make sure there is no typo somewhere. Unfortunately the book does not provide many graphs or practical examples to verify the results.

Most useful transmission line book for practical design
This book is for people that need good results fast without having to go into the derivations. If you need to get your project finished in the real world this is the bible to have. The book seems to be the result of tons of experience and we have used a lot of the formulas and we have yet to find that didn't work right on the money. If you want to get transmission line stuff done quickly and painlessly this is the one to buy.

Useful but beware of typos
As other reviewers have noted, this book has a huge collection of design/analysis formulas for various transmission line structures. This is the good news. The bad news is that there are quite a large number of typographical errors in the book. For example at least one of the loss equations is missing a factor of PI. It is still a useful book, but it is important to refer to the references given for each section to double check that equations have been transcribed correctly. In all fairness to the author, this may have been a book publisher issue and I have found other texts and papers in this general area to have similar issues (missing squared terms, wavelengths that belong in the denominator appearing in the numerator, etc). I think the moral of the story is you have to really watch what equations you actually use.

bible for transmission line design
a comprehensive collection and reference of materials concerning microwave transmission line. It is actually a long standing best seller from the premier publisher Artech House.

Un grande vademecum
Non è un prodotto, è un compendio di teoria e relative formule matematiche inerenti la progettazione di linee di trasmissione.Unico, molto costoso, molto utile.
