Scooter Locking Cargo Box Storage Compartment Large Size for Pride, Golden, Drive, Challenger Mobility J1400

Just received my Challenger Mobility cargo box & I'll have to say, I'd give it MORE than 5 stars if I could. I'm waiting for my new Drive Maverick mobility scooter to get here. That's the one that looks like a Harley. This cargo box was MADE for that scooter. The reason I'm so happy is the QUALITY of design & build.A few pluses that really don't get mentioned in the description: I thought the light colored part would be white, But it's a Silver/gray color which, to me, gives it a richer appearance. The black is very glossy (I'll have to really take care of it). The front, curved part of the lid has a textured piece of covering applied, giving the appearance of an upholstery roll where a reclining seatback would nestle. The latch is spring-loaded so it won't rattle loose if left un-locked while traveling. The upper lip of the lower box has a trim piece all around, rather than just a plastic edge. The lid overlaps the lower half enough that I doubt that anything would ever get wet insideThe whole thing, including mount stem, under-frame, & hitch pins is really strongIt's too large to put behind a little travel scooter. I've got a little Go-Go- Ultra X 3 wheeler & it would probably tip it backward. But for a full size scooter, this box is definitely the best one I've ever seen. The mounting stem is a 13" square adapter piece that fits into the square receiver that's under most scooter seats. the other end goes into the steel frame under the box. It has a few extra pin holes so you can play with the distance of the box to the seat.

Excellant addition to my scooter. I always had trouble carrying my stuff. This fit perfectly on my scooter and is adjustable. It locks with keys so the honest thirds can't steal your stuff. I recommend it highly, quality and style all the way. No junk here!

While the box was delivered and is perfect, I would like to add that I removed the bolts and turned the box in the opposite direction so it was easier for me to get in and out of it from the chair. It also found that while it is very smooth on the front section the rear section was curved so if I needed a push someone could do so without scratching it. I have also add reflective tape to the box so it is highly visible during less than full sunlight conditions. I also changed the bolts to machine head which are smooth so that no one could remove the bolts and steal the box. I used nylon nuts so that it would not unscrew easily. I also added some Metal eyelets so that I can carry my small 24" ramp underneath in case I am in an area which does not have cut outs in the curb. I used bungee cords to hold it in place. Will be in Europe soon and I feel that this will really make it useful for such a trip.

This trunk went on the scooter easy and is a good option for it that it desperately needed. I highly recommend it.

This box went on fairly easy, but it was very wobbly. It stuck out just a little bit more that the seat so it was dragging across doorways and getting damaged. I WOULD HAVE SENT IT BACK but it was already damaged before I figured it out. The latch was difficult for my father to operate and didn't seem to latch all the way. It was more secure when it was locked, but would pop open if it wasn't locked. As it did a lot of bouncing around it had to be locked. I replaced it with a large basket that folds up when not in use. It went on the same way, but it is very sturdy and does not wobble. It also tucks behind the chair so it doesn't drag thru the doorways. It folds up when not in use and is easy to open and close. Would NOT recommend this box. Get the basket instead and save yourself the same mistake and the money.

I purchased a Mobility truck for my mobility scooter. And I have been using it for about a week I'm telling you it is a great day I put everything in there with plenty of room and he's lots of space. It is very sturdy and made. Very well. I get this it is a excellent product I give it 5 stars
