Allegra PesentiZarina: Paper Like Skin

I saw the exhibit in Chicago with my mother. This book brought back the wonderful afternoon we shared. The texture of the medium in which Zarina works is reflected in the materials used to produce the catalogue. While no 8" by 10" photo can replicate seeing the originals, the photography in the book is excellent. I also found the introduction and essays very informative.

There wasn't really other way for me to know Zarina as artist than buying the book, and as expected is a great purchase. The catalogue is beautifully edited, the work showed in here has a great photo quality. Those interested in graphic work would be delighted with this piece.

Fine book; saw exhibit at Art Institute of Chicago and loved her work. Different and exciting. Hope you enjoy it too.

"Zarina: Paper Like Skin, this catalogue, has a front and back cover made of a fibrous gray cardboard, and seems to be enduring/ enjoying a comparable encounter with the Caribbean atmosphere as me. The pages are damp and rippling and the cover is borderline soggy. Where the edge rests on my abdomen it is notably expanded.
