The first volume on this series covered a lot of ground while moving at breakneck speeds but this collection of stories is centrally focused on one specific adventure and while the pace keeps up, it definitely feels like a shorter period of time. That said, a lot of threads just started in volume one see fruition in volume two. It almost seems like everything gets wrapped up here in anticipation of the next volume of Iron Man restarting from scratch but we have two more volumes of this series to go which show the aftermath of THIS volume and an adventure leading into the next big Iron Man thing.Anyway, this one is enjoyable. Heart-wrenching, but enjoyable. There has never been a time where I have ever wanted to see Tony Stark back to drinking but this volume earns that moment and offers a new take on what that means for his future. We also get more exploration of the nature of mortality, of artificial life, and what constitutes a continued existence. It isn't as weighty as I make it out to be but, damn, it explores some deep issues and I love it.The art is fantastic. There is a retro-future vibe here that really gels with the story. The style alters depending upon if the story is in the real world or in the online reality world. It works very well.Tony Stark: Iron Man continues to be a worthwhile read in its second volume. There are more seeds planted for the future (including all those Iron Man 2020 references shooting up) but earlier plotlines are concluded so things don't feel too cluttered. It's good stuff with a lot of weight behind the mile-a-minute nature of the storytelling.
