CHH The Racing Horse Game

Got this as a lightning deal. Needed another cheap gift for Christmas. Thought it couldn't hurt for the price point so I got it.Great family game! Now keep in mind. This game will probably be as fun as you make it. When we play our kids are all with us and we usually have two families and so all of us are shouting on our horses as we roll and 'race' our horses to the end. If you don't have such a lovely group of imagine the game wouldn't be as fun. But for the simplicity of the game we were surprised by how much fun we had. We played the first time with our friends and their kids bothered them so much about wanting it that they bought it the next week!This box looks deceiving. It looks like the quality is going to be crap but honestly, it's totally made good! The horses slide well, everything is wood. My only complaint is that it came with more poker chips because we want to game to play a bit longer before people get out. But other than that, this has been a great game that we added to our collection! And really no skill required. My four year old 'helps' me and my 6 year old plays on her own.

Was introduced to this game by my retired ladies group. It was so fun I bought it for my family and everyone from kids to grandparents love it. Great Game.

Game took minutes to learn. Few parts to mess with. We played horse game at our family Christmas party and we deem it a huge success. We had players ages 7-65 playing. We used nickels instead of chips. Game can be played in about 10-15 minutes which allows time for multiple rounds and other family members can rotate in and out. We had one person be the dealer and coin collector and had another person count and divide the pot at the conclusion of each round. It kept the game going a lot faster. The only negative is that a few horses are hard to move. The track needed to be widened a bit.

Great with both family and friends

A cheap alternative to other options on Amazon. This game is highly addictive and provides hours of fun with groups of people. The reason I give it 4 stars is simply because of its quality. I’m hoping this game lasts a long time, but due to the quality, I’m not sure that it will. With that said, the price point can’t be beat. I’ve seen and played on other boards that cost upwards of $100! The dice, chips and playing cards that come with this game are laughable! The dice are the smallest, cheapest pieces of garbage I’ve ever seen. But these things can be easily replaced, so I didn’t dock any additional stars from my review.

I originally purchased this game about 5 years ago. This is a fun game for a large group to play. The more that play will make it more exciting as everyone is shouting out for their horse to win. The game that I just purchased was for a gift. It arrived and was in great condition. It is the exact game that I have had for 5 years. My game gets lots of use - still in great condition. I recommend this game if you want to have a friends/family night of playing games the horse race game is for you!:) We sometimes use real money instead of the chips that are included and when money is involved of course its more exciting - we have used nickels, dimes, quarters and even dollars!! When we are invited to a party we are always asked to bring the horse race game!! Hope you enjoy your game too!!

I'm rating the game play. The more the merrier with this one. As for the quality--this is not a piece of beauty, but it holds up well and I have had no problems with it. The chips are really cheap and there are nowhere near enough for a full-on party game, but any poker chips will do to supplement the fun! Quality--3.5 Game itself--5.

We play this game and gamble 25/50/75/a dollar on the 4 scratched horses. We have a ball and can play all night for $20. Plus, if you want to sit out a few races you can just be dealt out. Great fun!

DIVERTIDISIMO!. Muy buen juego. Llegó completo con fichas, dados, cartas e instrucciones... 4 estrellas porque el segundo caballito viene chueco, aunque está bien adherido y cumple su función no es lo esperado. Por otro lado, las instrucciones vienen en inglés y eso complica un poco el entender el juego. Lo recomiendo ampliamente.

El juego está bueno, solo que las instrucciones para jugarlo que venían dentro del juego no fueron muy claras en un principio

It's okay. Wood is kind of cheap. The center of the board has a downward bow to it. The horses are not glued very straight, thus combined with the bow they do not slide very well near the center. It feels like they will snap at any point if pushed too hard. The accessories (cards, chips, dice) are cheap dollar store items. The dice are really tiny. You get what you paid for I guess. When this breaks (and it will) I will buy just a good quality board as I already have all of the accessories.

This game is amazing, the board itself isn't the highest quality but it beats paying >$100. Dice are cheap, the chips are cheap (and there aren't enough) and the horses themselves have a hard time being slid up and down the board...but again, it's much cheaper than other options so it gets a 4/5 star rating from me.
