Michael Jordan to the Max (Large Format) [DVD]

Now I know this sounds odd, but this was rented on dvd. And it stills plays on Navy Pier. So maybe going to your favorite video store to buy or rent this on video or dvd. The movie focuses on Jordon's last season as a Chicago Bull. But there is mention of Michael's late father who was found dead in August of 93. After that Michael retired from basketball.And close to his father's death, James Jordan (Michael Jordon's father) hinted to Michael of retiring from basketball and play baseball. Which Michael did. But Michael wasn't good at baseball and returned to the sport he was good at, that would be basketball in case you have just joined us. Michael Jordon spends the movie making shots after shots. He only misses twice in the film. The first playing on the road playing the Pacers. Which turns the battle goes to game 7. While that the Jazz has ten days rest and waiting to find out who they will play next the Bulls or the Pacers.And it turns out the Bulls win game 7 even thought they are tired. The first game the Jazz win. They Bulls win the games up until after game 4. The first two are in Utah. Then they go to the United Center in Chicago for games 3, 4, 5. Which game 5 turns out to be Michael Jordon's last game at the United Center. The Utah Jazz win game 5 and now thier is game 6 inm Utah.

Michael Jordan To The Max was an awesome DVD. It is just as good as Michael Jordan's other dvd presentation. "Michael Jordan:Above And Beyond".

Long time Michael Jordan fan and Bulls fan. Love the DVD. Its nice to see it in HD Blu Ray, the color of the jersey's really pop on the tv. This is a great DVD for any Jordan fan or just a fan of basketball in general, back when basketball was a real game and not street ball with no fundamental's needed. I always enjoy seeing the behind the scenes footage, I always wanted to read a biography written by Michael Jordan on his ups and downs, and what he thought of the league and players while playing but I'm sure that won't happen so watching these DVD's will do.

I bought this DVD without really knowing what to expect. I didn't really expect the IMAX feeling to translate well to a smaller screen, and to tell the truth, it doesn't. But that is not a problem here.Michael Jordan is an athlete larger than life and he does not need a big screen to relay that. His messages are powerful and his philosophy is an excellent source to anyone, but especially if you're raising children. He loves children in general, specifically his own, and a lot of what he says relates to children.You will not be let down by this DVD, the message is powerful and MJ on the court is always a delight.

What can I say I have been waiting on this product for awhile and The day it was released i snagged it up here on amazon. I always thought the imax dvd version was very nice this on blu ray took it to another level. This is the few jordan moments that were captured in high def and im glad they filmed this movie i have alot of fun showing it to family and friends that always talk about the newer younger nba stars they all say the samr thing after seeing this movie that jordan was and is the best basketbasll player on the planet.....

Michael Jordan was the reason why I picked up a basketball, started to watch the NBA with great interest and named my first son Jordan. This DVD is very special to me. He was so awesome to watch and follow throughout his career. He was a magician and gave me and so many others in the world the inspiration to be better and never give up. I was very lucky to meet him and wish him luck on his 2nd 3-Peat just before he started his final season with the Bulls in '97. He thanked me with a smirk of confidence that I'll never forget.

good reminder of great times

Ich habe mich immer mal wieder für Basketball und die NBA interessiert allerdings ist es schon nicht so einfach es wirklich vernünftig zu verfolgen. Die Spiele sind wenigstens im Free TV nicht zu sehen und auch sonst gibt es eher eine abgespeckt Berichterstattung. Unser Volkssport ist eben König Fußball und nicht Basketball, Dirk Nowitzki zum trotz. Und trotzdem dürfte vielen der Name Michael Jordan ein Begriff sein. Ein Indiz für seine Erfolge und damit verbündende Bekanntheit.Die Doku Michael Jordan to the Max ist eine Hommage an dem auch aktuell immer noch größten Basketballes aller Zeiten. Stars wie Koby Bryant oder Shaquille O'Neal zum trotz.Die Dokumentation ist 2000 veröffentlicht worden und hier hat man Michael Jordan bei seiner letzten Saison inklusive der Playoffs 1998 mit den Bulls begleitete. Michael Jordan hat ja erst spät seinen Rücktritt verkündet und seine letzte Saison erfolgreich mit dem erneuten Titelgewinn beendet.Die Dokumention dokumentiert Michael Jordans letzte Playoffs 1998. Man begleitet ihn dabei zwischen den einzelnen Spielen und dabei kommt neben Michael Jordan selbst auch viele Weggefährten zu Wort. Und es wird gleichzeitig auch zurück geblickt auf seine Karriere sowie seinen kleinen Anfängen. Michael Jordan erzählt von besonderen Erlebnissen, Schwierigkeiten und Erfolgen und wie er zu dem geworden ist der er damals war und heute noch ist. Man erfährt unglaublich viel von ihm. Was ihm wichtig ist und auch was ihn prägte.Der Rücktritt 1998 war Michael Jordans zweiter Rücktritt, auch hierauf wird in der Doku eingegangen. Schon 1993 (nachdem dritten Titelgewinn in Folge mit den Bulls und kurz nachdem sein Vater ermordet wurde dessen Wunsch es war das sein Sohn Profi Baseballer wird) verkündete er erstmals seinen Rücktritt. 1995 kehrte er zum Basketball und den Bulls zurück und das auf anhieb wieder erfolgreich. Drei weitere Titel folgten sowie der nächste Rücktritt. Was in der Doku nicht vorkommen kann (weil es passierte nachdem die Doku veröffentlicht wurde) ist das Air Jordan 2001 nochmals zurück kehrte bevor er 2003 endgültig zurück getreten ist. Allerdings nicht mehr zu den Bulls sondern den Washington Wizards und sportlich weniger erfolgreich.Das Steelbook ist normal aber ein absoluter Hingucker. Als Extras bekommt man Audiokommentar der Regisseure und Produzenten sowie Michael Jordans Spielerstatistiken, Behind the Scenes Featurette sowie Trailer. Alles in allem eine gelungene Umsetzung auf Blu-ray.Gerade in Deutschland ist es schwer die NBA vernünftig verfolgen zu können. Umso interessanter ist es so mal mehr über die NBA und ihrem bisher besten Spieler zu erfahren und die Chance zu bekommen ein ganzes Team über eine komplette Saison zu begleiten. Ich bin mehr als begeistert.

esperaba mucho más de este blu ray, en general trata de los últimos juegos de playoffs de Michael con los Bulls en 1998, los directores de este documental se ve que ni siquiera consiguieron los derechos para poner varios videos de jugadas y programas deportivos, ya que varias partes aparecen en un recuadro pequeño, que la verdad deja mucho que desear, lo mejor sin duda escuchar a Michael y su filosofía de triunfo, lo demás si se queda muy corto.

El numero 1.. Uno de los mejores documentales en HD que puedes comprar. Pienso que todo el mundo deberia tener en su casa un documental como minimo de las personas mas influyentes que han pisado la tierra en todos los ambitos, primero por cultiura y segundo porque como en este caso te das cuenta de los grande que ha sido por meritos propios.

Eine äußerst gelungene Dokumentation über den vermutlich größten Sportler aller Zeiten!Obwohl die Aufnahmen nicht die aktuellsten sind, ist die Bildqualität sehr sehr gut und man kann sich auf beeindruckende Bilder freuen. Die Story führt durch die letzten Spiele Michael Jordans Karriere und blickt dabei zwischendurch auf einige andere Episoden seines ereignisreichen Lebens zurück.Diese Dokumentation hat trotz ihrer kurzen Dauer (unter 1 Std.) trotzdem das Zeug dazu Gänsehaut zu verbreiten und den ein oder anderen zu Tränen zu rühren!
