USB 6 Channel 5.1 External Optical Audio Sound Card

It works great, like really great. Easy setup, and it totally fixed my problem (no audio card). It's very small too:)I would get it again if I needed one because it was so inexpensive. But the outside was aluminum. That was a surprise

Audio can be tricky. One setting can stop things. I got no audio out of this on Windows Vista 64. I couldn't find a model number that would allow me to google manufacturers information or usenet type information.

Does have an interference with power being plugged in(Noisy with pulse of the processor 6db) with out power direct battery Works Excellent!(having to suspect my power at the house, I checked on many places but still the same) for the price it really worth it 3-4stars. once you have the volume up on the music noise be unheard. so not that of biggie unless you wanna record to master. but we all know for that kinda out put need to spend a few bucks and get a NI product. in the end it did serve my purpose!!!

I plugged this into a USB port on my computer, and lost audio output from the factory sound card. Unplugging the device restored the factory sound. I tried running the driver CD that was included with the device, which failed with the USB sound card disconnected. I reconnected the sound card, and re-ran the driver installation. The installation completed, but Windows 7 will not accept unsigned drivers. Rebooted, and still had no sound. I went to the C-Media Electronics site (which is my best guess for the manufacturer of the device.) They have a driver download page, and list several Windows 7 drivers, but I was unable to determine which device I have. The package, the device, nor Windows device manager identify the device with a model number. Although I don't generally like to let Windows Update install drivers for non-Microsoft devices, I didn't see a lot of choices. Return it as nonfunctional, or try some drivers other than the one on the CD. Windows Update did find a driver it wanted to install. After letting Windows install a driver, the digital optical output lit up red. I put a toslink cable in, and confirmed my receiver had audio output from my computer. I went into my Windows Media Center audio settings, and was able to get audio from all 5.1 speakers. Not as bad as set-up could have been, but it would have been better for the included CD to have had a functional driver and/or a usable driver available for download. I suppose I could try some of the C-Media drivers, but why mess with it after it's functional? It was the lowest priced USB audio with digital output, so I'm satisfied. (I've had it running for an hour. I'll plan to update the review if it stops working.)

it is the best option for my x530! i feel like a cinema in my home, and i use it like a karaoke
