In fact, almost everything about it looks like an OEM filter. However, after wasting a lot of time trying to make this filter work, I sorted out a filter manufacturing issue. Champion uses heavy glue to attach the spongy mat to the paper element. On an OEM filter, that glue is pretty far away from the edges of the filter. On this filter, however, it goes much too close to the edges of the filter. There are plastic ribs in the bottom of the filter housing that help hold the filter in place, but that glue is so hard and think that it actually interferes with those plastic ribs. The end result is that the filter will not sit down flat. I used a razor blade to make four cuts in the thick glue to make the filter work.
