Wonderful book about natural dyeing!
I devoured this book as soon as it got here. It's very well-written, full of clear information about how to use natural substances for dyeing. I love the emphasis on sound environmental practices. The book was used and very reasonably priced. It was just as presented by the vendor: clean and unspoiled.

A beautiful, practical, and thorough resource
I've owned Botanical Inks for a while now and I still constantly find myself referring to it for all kinds of dye projects. The book contains beautiful images, and easy to follow instructions for all kinds of natural dyeing. Working with natural dye can be intimidating, but Botanical Inks makes it easy and anxiety-free. This is one of my most treasured resources!

Excellent tutorial and inspiration!
I ordered inks through Etsy, but wasn't quite certain where to jump off. I searched a number of books online and found this to have the most clear, informative text. I was so happy to find I made a great choice when I received it. I am overwhelmed at the possibilities and loving all of the creative avenues to explore!

Early review
Admittedly I have not read this book from cover to cover. I had found it to be enlightening until I hit the section on dying animal fiber, sheep wool, alpaca et al. This author couldn't be more wrong on the process if she tried. I have been a spinner, weaver, knitter for decades and she has no clue how to dye animal fiber. I will read the remainder of this book with a less secure opinion of what she says is accurate. Very disappointing.

what a superb book!!!
I don't know why it's called Botanical Inks cos whilst it has ink recipes it has loads of recipes and techniques for dyeing fabric with plants as well, its much more than just ink. There are also some projects at the back and a list of places to buy fabric to dye, if you're not dyeing old things. It's beautifully photographed and described clearly, there is a wonderful photo of lots of scraps of fabric dyed with different dyes and mordants so you can see exactly what you're doing. Its a 1st class book worthy of so much more than its title.

Incredibly relevant for modern day dyers!
Love this book, clearly written, with great photographic examples, yet very comprehensive for beginners and expert alike. So relevant for today, when given there are so many synthetic dyes harmful to our planet out there. I love the idea that my food refuse can be used as a colorant for my fabric! Great library resource
