If you didn't catch it on Broadway, check the video out on Netflix. An alternative without the video is this CD of the complete show. Review: Bruce all stripped down!! A great vinyl set. - I've seen Bruce over 50+ times in my life and have enjoyed every show that I have seen going back to 1984 on the BITUSA tour in the Meadowlands. I've seen him at the Garden, Giants Stadium, Shea Stadium, the old Meadowlands Arena back in the day, the now classic 3 Metlife Stadium shows from 2016 (three of the best times I've ever seen Bruce!) but nothing compares to seeing him on Broadway back in Dec. of 2017. I was lucky enough to score tickets in the mezzanine and this show was just Bruce, his guitar, and piano. To see this version of Bruce all stripped down and pouring out his heart and soul was just phenomenal! I've seen the Netflix special a couple of times and it brings me right back to the Walter Kerr. I feel that this was one of the best things Bruce has ever done in his career and I'm glad to have the vinyl set, cd set, and the lossless version of Springsteen on Broadway. Thank you Bruce for remaining humble all these years and always giving your fans your best. This is highly recommended on vinyl, to me the best sound of all!!

Fantastic Way To Experience The Show
While I didn't see this live on Broadway, I have seen the show on Netflix. I love what Springsteen has done, creating an autobiographical one-man show, using the songs to punctuate the points he makes about his own self-discoveries. I won't go long into the show itself, but for Springsteen fans, this show was not intended as a concert. Those who would have preferred he left out the monologues miss the point of this show. This is an aural telling of his autobiography, of his life. It's designed to take the audience on his insights into how he has become who he is. Why I love this format, even prefer it to watching on Netflix, is similar to why I love The Moth Radio Hour. I can envision what the performer is talking about. Comic performer Stan Freberg (who voiced Pete Puma and Junyer Bear in the classic Warner Brothers cartoons) once said that radio is theater of the mind. Movies and the stage are much more literal, whereas just hearing a story being told allows the listener's mind to create the visuals themselves, no special effects needed. On the Netflix special, many camera angles are used to keep the viewer interested. With an exclusively aural medium, no such different camera angles are needed. And the multiple camera angles on the special can get a bit subconsciously distracting. Listening without the visuals allows you to have that one perspective. If you want to allow your mind to create a visual tableau that Springsteen talks about, you can. You can envision the places he goes to, the situations he places him and you in. The great mastering engineer, Robert Ludwig (if you look at certain LPs, you might see the initials RL in the dead wax area near the label - that would tell you that he mastered it), engineered this recording for vinyl, and Chris Bellman (from Bernie Grundman's studio) cut it to vinyl. Those are two of the best in the game. This album sounds great, greater than the Netflix sound, and reportedly better than the CD version of this. The downside, albeit small, is the pressing quality. Sony/Columbia didn't use the best pressing plant for this, and some have complained about the quality control. The nice thing about buying from Amazon, in this case, is that you can swap for a better copy if need be. I had to get a couple of copies before I got one that I was satisfied with. But the quality of the sound on this LP has great presence, and is a bargain at the price of around $20. You can pay up to $90 for this set (the price when it came out) at other retailers. A bigger downside is that the digital coupon that comes with this set is no longer valid. If you were to buy from a standard retailer, you'd be SOL. But when you buy from Amazon, you automatically get a digital version of every record you buy. So if you go to Amazon Music, you'll find digital versions of every record you've ever bought available for download. It's another reason to buy this one from Amazon. In any event, while I'm assuming you're looking at my review because you're considering the vinyl version of this, I'd recommend getting the CD if that's more your thing only because I think that listening to a strict aural presentation of this Broadway show is the best way to experience it.

An unprecedented run, all the way around
First the autobiography, then the Broadway run, the Netflix taping, and now this audio release to keep it all fresh and in perspective. Amazing! Bruce Springsteen operates in a class all his own, and in the same way I feel about Bob Dylan, I'm just lucky to be alive at the same time to witness his artistry. Not a collection I'll necessarily play endlessly (like I did Born To Run, The River, and others when I was a much younger man), but one I'll take the time to savor again and again over the years -- like a fine bottle of wine for special occasions. Thanks, Bruce, for taking us along and sharing your amazing life's journey.

It doesn't matter if you're a Bruce fan because this performance will just grip you.
I have followed Bruce since 1973 but did not know what to expect when I heard about this show happening a year ago. Broadway ? It surpassed my highest expectations. This is the type of legendary performance that a great story teller can have at age 69 and what an impact his stories ,married with his songs have. From his first words to his finale song the two hours and thirty three minutes goes by too fast. I never wanted the performance to end. Funny, reflective, sad and very relevant . You won't be able not to play the performance from start to finish and want to hear it again immediately. I am so glad that Bruce shared these moments in his life with his fan base. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would.

Ben fatto Mr
