2712 ThermaSync Defroster Control and Switch, 12 V

Purchased to add heated mirrors to an international 4700 that didn’t have that feature. Install was a breeze and it worked exactly as I hoped. Wish the cord from the brain to the button was a little longer as it can affect where you mount it but I made it work and it was a good purchase

Installed on a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado WT. I added turn signal and heated mirrors to replace the ultra basic mirrors that came with the truck - no heat, no turn signal, no power adjust, no power fold .This item is used to control the heated mirror portion and works as expected. I installed the switch on the dash to the left of the fog light/cargo light simply because whoever owned the truck before me had already cut a hole there for a toggle switch. The switch wire is plenty long to be able to mount the switch remotely from the control unit.Ultra simple and easy to install. The only thing that slowed me down was peeling off the backing to adhere the switch to the dash. For me, I used a white wire near the fuse box that had power only when the truck had ignition on as opposed to using a RAP style wire. The control unit is located near the steering column for easy access later if needed; also an auditable clicking is nice in this location since it's a bit hard for me to see the switch light on without moving my head bit (again due to my own placement and lack of desire to drill a new hole).

Worked exactly as advertised. Used it to control my aftermarket mirror heaters. Powers on and stays on for 10 minutes, then shuts off automatically until powered on again. Also cuts off if you turn vehicle off before the 10 minutes. Ideal to used and preserve mirror and seat heaters.Pricey but the switch was small and nice (not cheap or tacky) , easily mounted with 2 sided tape, appropriately lighted to indicate off/on. Connections easy and intuitive. Priced it out buying other cheaper (Chinese) modules, but they required timing to be set with jumpers, the instructions were interesting (really bad English), and you still need to buy a switch. Considered using one of my factory slots in the dash to add a momentary contact, but in the end it was only ten bucks cheaper.I am pleased with my decision to spend a little more.I would recommend this unit, and would buy again.

It appears to be well made. I still need to wire my mirrors and install the relay.
