An Ignatian Introduction to Prayer: Scriptural Reflections According to the Spiritual Exercises

I am in the middle of reading this book and wow is it so awesome. It is written well and so thought provoking. I needed this book and I would recommend it to anyone.

I've used this so much that it's falling apart. A great introduction into Ignatian prayer as a meditation. It's not as guided as I thought it might be (I'd prefer a little more instruction as to how long to pause between sentences, etc.). Either way, I love this, and I often used it with my students!

I just started this book and I'm about a fourth through it. Each reflection is short but powerful. I am amazed at how much I love each one. It has touched me like no book has in a very long time.

Many years ago I read about Lectio Divina. It sounded like a great way to read Scripture, but I actually did not understand how to actually DO it. This book is a book that changes all of that. It is a great book that I recommend to anyone who loves the Christian Scripture and wants to learn how to get so much more out of their daily reading of the Word of God.

This book is good for lent or ordinary times also. I have read and performed the exercises during the last two lent.It is like spending 40 days with Christ, and perhaps some the disciples and women in Chris's life.

I approached a Priest, wanting to deepen my prayer life. I didn't know where to begin and he pointed me straight to this book. I've been using the meditations in the book and I'm thankful he suggested this book. It's a great place for beginners who are looking for a place to start as well as people who are seeking to deepen their prayer life.

This is a nice collection of Bible readings along the trajectory of an Ignatian retreat, at least loosely.

A favourite book of mine. Heard about this when listening to Father Timothy Gallagher speak so eloquently about Ignation spiritual excercises by reflecting on Sacred Scripture on then Discerning Hearts podcasts. A wonderful book to develop and deepen prayer life.🌸

This is an excellent Resource for Ignatian Prayer. Good for individual use and also an excellent resource book for Spiritual Directors and Retreat Givers. I come back to it time and time again. I have been using this book for ten years.
