CAREFREE 701008ACD Black 10' x 8' Drop RV Awning EZ ZipBlocker

I spent almost an hour on hold with Carefree customer service asking them in what country the awning shade was manufactured. The Carefree agent told me that the product was Made in USA. Their product was a little more expensive than the others however I purchased in the effort of supporting American made products.I received the shade and much to my disappointment the case was Made in China and the shade was Made in Mexico.The product itself is good quality but I hate being lied to by the customer rep.

Just what summers in FL ordered! I had been wanting one of these for a few years and this one did not disappoint. The reviews were spot on; it is excellent quality, so easy to install AND take down with the awesome zipper, and the added shade it provides is so nice for us living here in FL. It actually adds another room to your outdoors area providing both shade and a little privacy. Someone suggested we get "the ones with the zipper" and I am so happy we did! When the winds whip up and storms come in, we just unzip it and away it goes in our storage bag. I can actually take it down myself it's that easy. If you have been hesitant on purchasing this, don't be! The measurement is perfect and it's one of the best purchases we have made for our RV yet! Thank you :)

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE YOU ORDER: Carefree is no longer shipping the EZ Blocker to Amazon with the storage bag, stakes and rope. You can purchase this item everywhere else for the same exact price with these items included. It does state these are "not included" in their description. However, as you look down to the more detailed manufacture's description, it only says stakes are not included. It also shows the storage bag in the video next to the pictures of the product. If you also read in their QUESTIONS & ANSWERS, someone does ask if these are included. As many as 6 customers responded as of Feb. 19th and said they received the storage bag, ropes and stakes. I called the manufacture and they said Amazon is the only company who sells this product without the storage bag, stakes and ropes. Which begs the question why? You need something to anchor this shade down or it will blow around and cause damage to itself, to your $50,000 camper or to yourself. It is a safety issue.

Several times we have been roasted in our 5th wheel by sites which had no shade and faced directly into the sun. This Carefree shade solved the problem, and more. First, the 8' drop was enough to get the shade close enough to the ground for easy tie-down. The zippered extension was a great addition. Because of the height of our awning, sliding the shade into the slots would have required us to take along a ladder. With the permanently installed extension in the awning, we were able to reach up and zip in the shade. Perfect!I would suggest buying better tie-downs. It comes with simple plastic stakes. These are a) hard to hammer into the ground, and b) don't stay well. We purchased a couple Camco stakes (similar to http://www.amazon.com/Camco-42572-Spiral-Anchor-Tie-Out/dp/B000EDUTVS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1459043885&sr=8-2&keywords=camco+stakes). No hammer required and they hold well.We also always use the Camco awning stabilizers when wind is a possibility.By the way, our awning is a Dometic, but the Carefree fit just fine.

We are in Arizona with a ton of sun beating on the motorhome. We decided to buy a dun screen so we could enjoy our patio more. As I was researching I was really tempted to go for one that cost less. So glad I didn't. This is s great product. Took my wife and I less than ten minutes to install on to our electric awning and a couple of more yo zip in. Don't think twice. Buy this one

A very nice product but beware that it won't work as advertised on all awning types. I have a Fiamma awning with support arms that fold out as you extend the awning and with this type of awning you cannot leave the top piece of this extension in place when you re-wind the awning. The awning doesn't roll up onto a tube as it does on some awnings and thus the piece of this that is meant to roll up with the awning won't work. If you fully roll up the awning that piece will be left hanging outside the awning enclosure. But I kept it anyway because it fills a need and is well designed. I simply remove the entire extension each time, leaving nothing in place. Not as convenient as it was intended to be but still better than nothing. You simply thread the product into the slot that even the Fiamma has, and then unthread it when you're done. It may not last forever that way but its useful enough to justify that risk. I recommend this product even for people like me.

So glad we got this for our motorhome. In a hot sun it's so helpful with cutting down the heat. The part that inserts to the awning rail is about a 3' hang, the bottom section is 6' that easily zips on and off. We just leave the upper section on to roll in and out with the patio awning and zip on the lower section when needed.We use those little black bungee cords with the ball for the bottom tie downs. This works out perfectly when a strong wind whips up and you need to roll in the awning quickly; the zipper zips off the bottom section amazingly easy, roll in the awning and stow the bottom section with the bungees.We've seen similar shade cloths but not as good looking and not as good of quality as this product is. And when the wind whips up we're glad we got this that is quick and easy to roll up!!!

The initial setup of the top portion was not easy. I would imagine that having a second person would be ideal. Once that top portion is in place, the EZ zip is named appropriately. It's a snap, well zip actually. Seriously, this is a good product. I have also read other reviews about the 12v power awning. So far no problem for the awning motor or the size of the top portion rolling up.

Bought this screen for our two week vacation. It fits our motor home awning perfectly and offers a shady and private area for us to relax. I do wish this screen came with another attachable piece of nylon for evening use when we want privacy. I will be making something to fit onto it when I get home. I do wish I had bought at least one side piece but again, I’d like it more for privacy in the evening so a solid option would be nice.I’m giving this product five stars because it is exceptionally well made, good quality material and mechanics, very nicely engineered (easy to use) and does the job it has advertised. My husband was so impressed that he can leave part of it inside the awning and then just zip the screen on when needed.

Our seasonal campsite has the door side facing east. We have added a deck on the east side. There is full sunlight from early morning until about 2 pm. We found it very hot, some days too hot, to sit there even as early as 8 a.m.We found this solar blocker and decided to get it in order to have shade. It arrived very quickly. As advertised, it installed in the slot of the RV awning in seconds. There was an immediate drop in temperature from sitting in the direct sunlight to being behind solar shade.In addition to providing shade, it provides privacy from people looking in while we can still look out and enjoy the view.The shade is well constructed and durable. It is easy to zip on and zip off. It folds neatly into its case.When our camping friends saw it and sat behind it, they were so impressed that they bought one and now have it in their awning.

Dropped off by the courier wrapped in a thin plastic bag only.One newly applied Label affixed said it was 10 x 8 as I had ordered, What looked like the original label still attached indicated it as a 13 footer.Measurement proved it to be 13 feet wide.No carry bag included as mentioned in product descriptionNo hardware included for securing it to the ground as mentioned in product description.To say the least not a happy camper.Returned to Amazon.

We purchased this product to give us some relief from the sun on our trailer.It definitely did that but the product was so easy to install. The zippered header is left toroll up in our motorized awning the other part is so easily zipped off and stored for our nextvisit to our trailer. Fast & easy! It also helps to keep the rain out & is light weight.Much better than expected for sure!

I wasn’t sure how effective it was going to be but had to something about the heat coming off our deck facing south east and this works great. I wanted it a bit short because our lake view is off the the side front so the fact it’s shorter than the canopy allows movement to either block more early sun or allow better side visuals.
