Huge improvement over OEM/stock headlight bulbs.
I put a set of these on a 2004 Honda Odyssey two years ago and was amazed at the difference of illumination produced. The light is much whiter in color and that improves your nighttime vision tremendously. Road signs, reflective lane markings (white and yellow striping) and the reflective dots (Botts' dots) are all much brighter and can be seen from greater distances than with regular halogen headlights. Also, the beam pattern seems to be a little wider and that gives you better side vision of the shoulders of the road and the beam seems to illuminate farther down the road increasing your forward vision too. Although whiter and brighter, they don't seem to affect oncoming traffic like 'projector beam' headlights sometimes to. The higher price may be a little hard to swallow but believe me, they are well worth it. Just be very careful when installing them and don't touch the glass bulbs with your fingers or let the bulbs touch anything oily or greasy. The bulbs operate at very high temperatures and any oil or grease will cause a hot spot on the glass bulb which will lead to the glass breaking. If you do accidently touch the bulb or get it dirty, don't fret, you can clean and wipe off the bulb with a clean cotton cloth or paper towel. I recently traded in my Odyssey for a new 2014 Nissan Frontier and the first time of nighttime driving with OEM light bulbs and the terrible yellow tinted light made me immediately order a new set of these SilverStar zXe for my new truck.

I can see everything!
Where I live, we have a horrible problem with the deer population. Every single night you can bet you're going to have to make some evasive manuever to dodge a deer, it never fails. So I decided to beat them to the punch and increase my odds out there. I drive a 2004 Mustang and really was considering HID headlights. After doing my research I figured if I was going to get HID's then I'd have to do it the full right way and get projector headlights and all that. Rather than going through all that work and effort I did more research and came to these Sylvania 9007 bulbs. I quickly decided that this would be the best option for me and I was right! First, I'm not a hand's on guy (don't even change my own oil), so when I tell you me and my friend installed these ourselves in less that 15 minutes, I hope you understand how easy it was! They light emitted is vast, beautifully white and bright, and stylish. I'm very impressed with how effective these headlight bulbs are and will be using them for awhile. All I have to say is........now while I'm driving at night, I laugh at the deer because I can see them from so far away. Or in the middle of a field which I never would have seen without Sylvania 9007's!

Bright Son-Of-A-Guns!
These SZ series are the brightest LEGAL headlight bulbs on the market for my truck (2002 Ford Ranger). They are great if you dont want to hassel with switching over to HIDs. They are a bit pricey, but worth the money! I understand they have the shortest bulb life of all the Sylvanias, but probably because they burn hotter, I'm not exactly sure. Honestly, I bought new TYC headlight lens and these bulbs... and my truck is like driving a new car at night. I can see twice as far and have a much wider span of light. Its crazy how much bright they are. They are rated at 50% brighter than stock, but between upgrading to the TYC crystal clear lens and these bulbs, i think I'm about 70% brighter. I have a hard time seeing at night and I think these things solved my problem. Worth every penny!

Pleasantly Surprised....
Was shopping for new 9007 headlight bulbs for my 2011 Nissan Pathfinder. Had already been using the SilverStar Ultra bulbs with no problems. My field of view while driving was very good. They're still working fine but they do not give off a "White" light. They are definitely in the "yellow" spectrum. Was doing a bit of research and came across the Sylvania zXe bulbs. On Amazon the reviews were mixed but I took a chance anyway. I have to be honest, the zXe's ABSOLUTELY do give off a "White" light. While changing the bulbs I had the drivers side headlight with the Ultra's & the passenger side headlight with the zXe's to see if there was a difference. It was noticeably different. I could not detect any "yellow" tint from the zXe bulb whatsoever. Brightness seems to be good. Will need to do more night-time driving to make sure. I say this because I thought I detected a teeny bit of light loss in my field of view while driving around. I'll update later on just to be sure. Remember, they are not HID's. If you want to eliminate the "yellowish" look of your current bulbs, my opinion is that these zXe's will do the trick. How long will they last? That remains to be seen. If they die out on me prematurely, I'll be sure to let you know. As for the mixed reviews here at Amazon, I think it all depends on which vehicle you apply these to. It may not look right on older cars possibly due to the reflector arrangement in the headlight assembly. If you notice, the headlight assembly in newer vehicles seem to have a more aggressive reflector pattern. These are just some of the things to keep in mind if you're shopping around for bulbs. Bottom line: I'm pleasantly surprised & very happy with the bulbs. Could they cost a bit less?? Sure they can! Everything nowadays should be less expensive but that's an entirely different issue. BTW, I rated these bulbs 4 out of 5 stars just because of the cost. They really should be less expensive. Reminder: Please wear latex gloves when changing your bulbs. If you touch the glass area of the bulb with your bare hands, the natural oils from your skin will ruin the bulb and may cause it to die out prematurely making your purchase way too expensive. Enjoy & take care. 9/24/12 UPDATE: On my suspicions that there might be some loss of light, I found it to be negative. The appearance of light loss only came into play when driving in a very well lit area. I tested this issue by re-installing the SilverStar Ultra bulbs and even went as far as re-installing the OEM bulbs. In my opinion, the Sylvania zXe bulbs still performed best. Just wanted to let you know. Take care. 12/8/13 UPDATE: Sylvania zXe's are still burning strong. Also, on many occasions I've been getting oncoming drivers flashing their high-beams at me as we pass each other. Apparently this is proof that the zXe's are extremely bright because oncoming drivers think I have my high-beams on when I don't. I've had to flash them back to say like... hey man.. I'm low-beaming here. I've never experienced this phenomenon with the OEM's or the Ultra's. Except for the occasional good buddy warning me of Law Enforcement in the area. Just wanted to keep you guys & gals informed. Take care. 5/27/14 UPDATE: Well it finally happened. One of the bulbs pooped out on me so you know what that means. Time for replacements. I installed the old OEM's temporarily and boy let me tell you, I don't miss that hideous yellow tint. Ugly as hell. So I'm doing my research for my next set of bulbs. I'll let you know which ones I choose. Who knows, I may just buy these zXe's again. Catch you later.

Better than expected...
In many states it is becoming illegal to run the HID headlights and quite frankly I feel these are the next, best alternative. They shine a nice white light as opposed to the dull yellow that we here in the US have grown accustomed to. I just put these in my daughter's 2005 Dodge Neon and couldn't feel better about the purchase. I can sleep better knowing that she can see the road 100% clearer while driving at night. A value and an easy install. A+

A Good Conversion. Was about to get Philips.
Hi, I just installed the new Silverstar zXe (9007) in my Ford F 350. I converted from HID lights that had a hi/lo in one single bulb. I changed becauseHID lights are becoming more illegal and, because my truck is lifted, no matter how low I set my HID's they still bother people. I do not regret buying these Silverstar zXe and the beam is much more clearer because they do not have a grounding stick next to the bulb, like the HID's do. It is true that the zXe aren't that much of a difference from the normal Silverstar ULTRA's but there still is. It is slightly whiter and slightly brighter. I would definitely recommend these to anyone and an HID user. They are street legal! If you are coming from normal halogens, I do anticipate you to view the video posted on the main page. I was about to get Philips halogens but I definitely changed my mind after watching the comparisons and they are true as well. See at night...Silverstar zXe.

Don't waste your time
Wow do surprised that this bulbs are not at all white not even close to hids like in ad I'm very disappointed I had to return them because I couldn't see nothing at night because they are even less brighter than stock bulbs and than silver star ultras no doubt I wouldn't buy again I wouldn't even take them for free if given a chance only if they were like mentioned in ad WHITE no YELLOW but if you like the regular color yellow in your bulbs and less bright go ahead and buy

Love these!
I bought these previously at Walmart and when my driver side light went out after 3 years I purchased them again on here. I will only purchase these for Halogen lights. They are bright and makes everything easy to see, especially deer (living in rural Iowa this is a must!). You don't get the hazy yellow light with these that you get with normal headlights. They do glare off the roads when it's raining though, making it hard to see. As long as you're not doing a lot of night driving in the rain these are the perfect headlights.
