Bulbs were great for me!
I fretted over which bulbs to put into my 2005 Camry SE as I wanted bulbs that were bright white, provided a clean spread of light, and lasted reasonably long but did not break the bank coming in at about $30 dollars a pair. And after taking a chance on these Sylvanias, I was not dissapointed. More than once these bulbs helped light the way in pure darkness, in rain, snow, fog etc as I live in Iowa where we get all the 4 seasons. I also have enjoyed the looks of the bulbs from the outside providing a clean expensive look. So I replaced both my bulbs February 2nd, 2011 and just a couple days ago the left bulb went dead and therefore lasted an approximate time of 1year 10months with one bulb still chugging along. I felt this amount was more than reasonable considering I often accidentally forget to switch my headlights off more often than not so I figure I got nearly 2yrs on the bulbs despite frequent daytime use and that's pretty great. In addition, I do not feel the remaining bulb is burning very much dimmer than the replacement I've placed in which was another of these same bulbs. I am happy and satisfied with these bulbs. Pros: Clean white light Even field of illumination with great peripheral spread and illuminates further ahead of vehicle which is useful to avoid hitting deers! Midlevel price tag Maintains majority of brightness through life Lasts nearly 2years despite frequent daytime use Functions well in all weather conditions Does not glare into other drivers eyes Possible Cons: Not any noticable blue tint if you prefer that look which doesn't bother me. Not the cheapest set Hope this review was helpful!

All lights I have installed I have not had any problems with burning the bulbs up from contamination like other brands
I have been using these lights for many years now in many different vehicles. All lights I have installed I have not had any problems with burning the bulbs up from contamination like other brands. When following the manufacture installation instructions I have had problems with other brands breaking bulbs and burning out but never such an issue with these lights. These Silverstar ultra lights all have not dimmed over time and last much longer than the hours listed. The lights are considerably brighter than standard lights for example my 01 dodge 3500 lights were terrible and if something was in the road and hi beams are on I most likely would not have able to see the object in time to avoid it especially the black bodies of moose. These lights cured that, same for my 03 Montero and and these have been great replacement bulbs for our 4 runner. We live out of town and wild life is a big concern from deer, elk, moose and bear that can step out at any moment. Being able to see there eyes and bodies in the lights much earlier than standard lights and many years of use with out any burnt out lights has turned into never use another brand of light again. They have a bluish tint to the bulbs but that does not transfer to the light output. The light is bright white light and aids in eliminating dead spots. I highly recommend them.

Premature Failures Of SilverStar 9006 or 9005
I've read many complaints concerning premature failure of the Sylvania SilverStar Ultra 9005 and 9006 bulbs posted on Amazon, most failures concern premature failure of the low beam Ultra 9006 bulbs. DON'T TOUCH THE LAMP WITH YOUR BARE FINGERS WHEN INSTALLING, use a clean cloth when handling and installing, this is the major reason that so many people experience premature failure of these bulbs. This is the same for any high intensity bulbs, flashlight or auto bulbs. Your fingers can transfer oil and body acid to the bulb surface. Many automobiles use halogen light bulbs in their headlights, which can get extremely hot. The heat is transferred uniformly through the glass casing of the bulb, through the headlight casing, and finally into the atmosphere. HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ANY OIL, BODY OIL, OR BODY ACID ON THE GLASS SURFACE OF THE BULB, THE HEAT TRANSFER WILL NOT BE UNIFORM, CAUSING THE GLASS TO EXPAND AT NONUNIFORM RATES AND PREMATURE FAILURE WILL MOST LIKELY OCCUR. Even if you have just washed your hands with soap and water, the skin's natural oils and body acids can be enough to cause a bulb to break under high temperatures, simply use a clean paper towel. SECOND: A great many vehicles have what is known as a DRL (Daytime Driving Light) feature, the purpose of which is to help alert other drivers of oncoming vehicles. As a result, the low beams are on all the time, day or night, at a lower power rating, as a result, with the low beams on all the time, the Sylvania SilverStar Ultra 9006 bulbs will typically burn out quicker. To solve this problem, there will be a DRL fuse on the fuse block of your vehicle, it may be located in the under hood fuse block, or in a fuse block inside the vehicle, typically, it's a 20 amp fuse, simply remove this fuse and you will disable the DRL feature and increase the longevity of your Sylvania SilverStar Ultra 9006 low beam bulbs. The choice to disable the vehicle's DRL feature is yours and so is the responsibility, I'm only pointing out that it can be disabled. Since the DRL feature was incorporated years ago, some vehicle manufacturer's have opted to let the owner/driver of vehicle the choice to have the headlights on or off during daytime driving. It is true that the Sylvania SilverStar Ultra bulbs do not last as long as standard bulbs, however, the payoff is considerably improved nighttime viability, a few extra dollars is worth the added night-time safety. If you replaced both low and high beams, your invested is around $70.00 - $80.00, that a small investment even if they only last a year. We all waste more money on movies, beer, cigarettes, and other foolishness far in excess of the cost of vehicle bulbs that could actually save ones life.

Purchased Dec. 7, 2024, Failed March 4, 2026.
Purchased Dec. 7th 2024 for the Toyota Camry, perfect fit, but one bulb failed March 4, 2026. These halogens simply are not worth it. They are only designed to last 300 hours and that’s definitely no joke. It’s simply not worth buying halogens when LEDs are widely available. Just buy the Sylvania 9006 ultra LEDs and be glad that you did. Halogens are a waste of time and money at this point. The only reason why LEDs are not DOT approved is because they can blind other drivers when installed improperly. So just buy the LEDs and install them properly and enjoy the 10,000+ hour life that they offer. It’s a no brainer. Over the life of the bulbs, you’ll spend more $$$ on halogens than you will with LEDs. These halogens don’t have a lifetime warranty, but the ultra LEDs do. Both are easy to install, it’s a light bulb for goodness sake! The LEDs just stick out more because of the aluminum housing. The halogens are more like-for-like OEM replacements, but the LEDs will fit and last MUCH longer. Get the right equivalent LED model 9006 and it will work. In the Camry, the daytime running lights (DRLs) work off the high beams, so the low beam LEDs are completely unaffected by the DRLs, so you don’t even have to worry about flickering. It’s a simple on/off with low beams. Hope this helps so you don’t make the same mistake I did.

Arrived when and as expected - both bulbs work
Packaging was a bit flimsy. Arrived in soft bag... should have been in small box for better protection.

Definitely an improvement on peripherals
Just got them today, earlier than expected, a little tight installing, had to put them in place in the headlight lens before putting the wiring on, definitely whiter light, negligible difference with the new bulbs on low beam vs. High beam. Slightly further down the road with the old high beams but because of the yellow tinge, clarity not as good as the Sylvania's. With the new low beams being that much better than the old Napa bulbs that were in the truck, I just might not bother buying the 9005 high beam bulb.
