HodgeAccordion Accessory (BB1)

Bought this for my son. It broke in the bassoon on the FIRST use and ended up stuck in the bassoon. We had to take it to a repair shop to get it removed. So a repair bill later they said NEVER buy Hodge. Disappointed!! I'd give zero stars if I could

I don't have a bassoon but this works great with a traditional wooden Irish flute. The chain makes it easy to pull through the two joints and feeding the silk through a cleaning rod works for the head joint.

I had my doubts when this first arrived. It was smaller than my previous swab and i questioned the use of a chain as a weight. Boy was i wrong! It works great and the chain weight is much easier to use than my previous swab with a single metal weight.

It is a smaller package than you would think it is, the string and the fabric connection doesn't look that strong, but I could always sew it back on, it fits through the boot joint and the wing joint pretty easily. Would be nice if it had cleaning instructions also, but not worth to take a star off for, we have Google for that.

It works well, flows through the joints with little resistance and is very absorbent. Always go with a silk swab.

Nice set for the money but the earring clasps were poorly made and would not stay closed. I sent it back.

this swab fits oboes well.The size is right - whereas their swab for oboe is way too small.the metal string sometimes comes off, but rarely enough.
