Great practice test book for 7 yrs old beginning of 2nd grade Cogat test
I bought this as a practice test for my 7 yrs old, for her beginning of 2nd grade Cogat test at school. I loved it, it was the best out of 3 practice tests books I got.I thought the level of difficulty was appropriate and the format of the test was good. Some say you can not practice for the Cogat test, but I would like to say it does help to practice a bit. It familiarizes the kids with the type of questions they get and the 9 categories they get tested on - specially the paper folding, which was very new for us. My child was absolutely helped by the practice tests.I definitely recommend the book for practice. Also recommend the Smart Cookie Practice Test 1 for the Cogat Form 7.

This one is even worse
These books are generally very poorly made, sometimes with very questionable questions and wrong answers, bad clip art choices, etc. This one is definitely on the lower end of the spectrum amongst these horrible books. Levels of the questions vary from way too low to bit too high, and I do not mean easy and hard questions, it is like some parts are for pre-kinder and some are hard 2nd grade level Qs. I used to tutor many kids when I was younger, and from my experiences, this material is really sub-par.

Good Practice
My daughter enjoyed the material. I do think that a few questions were marked incorrectly. Overall, I think it was a great introduction of what to expect on the test.

Good book for preparation but would've preferred more practice tests!
Definitely recommend as preparation before taking the test. It gives all the types of questions that would be asked, do the kids can get familiar and confident when they take the tests. Would've preferred more practice tests though.

Sucks.
Okay but hard to navigate on phone - annoying that I am REQUIRED to post a review before proceeding to next page!

Good practice book to give the kid the idea about ...
Good practice book to give the kid the idea about what Cogat testing is about. Also, loved that they gave explanations for the answers. I would've given 5 star if there was more practice questions.

Below grade level - too easy
So far my son has taken 3 sections, and not missed any questions. I'm not sure what to do except buy a grade or two higher next time... if your kid needs a "confidence builder" or struggles in school, then buy this one. Otherwise shop around.. One single test and answer sheet - no test prep guidance, no real suggestions for improvement. Answers do not provide explanation either.
