desertcart.com: Night Game (GhostWalkers, Book 3): 9780515139761: Feehan, Christine: Books Review: Absolutely Brillant Paranormal Military Ghostwalkers - Christine Feehan is unequivocally positively brilliant with creating her paranormal military "Ghostwalkers Series" and NIGHT GAME is powerful! The story is the third sequel and continues the saga of Dr. Peter Whitney's obsessive determination to create and perfect the "perfect lethal soldier". Night Game is power packed with action - that will curl your hair, military intrigue beyond your imagination, secret military weapons, genetic experimentation, kidnapping and the hottest most erotic love story you could imagine. Dr. Lily Whitney-Miller is Dr. Peter Whitney's daughter - or so she understood for years until she exposed the secreted concealed lab in the basement level of their palatial mansion. Then her Father was murdered. Lily is working nonstop to provide the Ghostwalkers with exercises and skills to combat the consequences of her Fathers experiments of removing the brain's natural filters. They have headaches, nose bleeds and in some cases strokes. She is determined to design exercises that will help restore some of the brains ability to protect itself. The girls have some the same side effects and some of them worse. She also found the research that her Father experimented on Iris" Flame" Johnson with cancer. Whitney was concerned that genetic enhancing the men would could cancer so he experimented on Flame. Lily has discovered that her brilliant Father purchased several little girls with psychic abilities from foreign countries and performed experiments on them removing their brain filters and enhancing each of them with his maniacal egocentric obsession to create the perfect lethal soldier. She knows now that she is not his biological daughter but one of "the little girls" that he purchased and experimented on. Lily struggles with the knowledge that her Father was a genius and exceeded the results of any other research on the planet but she is torn because he was and is guilty of crimes against humanity. She is driven now to find all of the girls, now women, and rescue them and provide some comfort and support for them. Little does Lily know - but she is in for more surprises that she could possibly imagine. Raoul "Gator" Fontenot is a brilliant dangerous genetically enhanced trained soldier but all the training in the world may not help him on this mission. His Grandmother "Grand-mere" Nonny Fontenot has begged him to come home to the bayou to help find one of the family's dearest friends that has gone missing. Joy Chiasson is a young beautiful woman that has a beautiful sultry voice and has gone missing throwing everyone into a frantic search to find her with no results. Gator loves his Grand Mere Nonie and heads to the bayou to join his 3 brothers in the search for Joy. After four weeks of searching Gator hasn't found Joy - B U T - he spots a woman at the gas station that strikes a note. He can't believe that he may have stumbled upon the missing Iris "Flame" Johnson - one of the missing girls. She is breath-taking beautiful wearing a skin tight black pair of pants that reveals the "flame" tattoo on her hip. Her hair is thick and red peeking out under the helmet and the motorcycle that she is riding is spectacular. Flame believes that Dr. Peter Whitney is still alive and still experimenting on people and orchestrating "military field exercises" perfecting the perfect lethal soldier. Gator follows Flame and observes her scaling the wall at Kurt Saunders guarded gated house and waits for her to return leaning lazily on her spectacular souped up motorcycle. Gator recognizes the power that a Ghostwalker exudes and he knows that HE may be in trouble with this red headed powerful woman. Get comfortable. Be prepared to read this story from start to finish in one setting. The only way this series could be better is to buy the audiobooks and listen to Tom Stechschulte's rich, enthusiastic and talented voice brings the story to a new level! Review: Favorite So Far - THE STORY: Raoul "Gator" Fontenot is a member of the GhostHunters, a special force of genetically enhanced paranormal soldiers. Gator goes home to the bayous of New Orleans to search for a local girl gone missing. While there he is asked to also search for Iris "Flame" Johnson who was subjected to the same experiments as Raoul when she was a child. Flame is on her own quests when the two end up meeting. She does know that Gator is part of the same group that is searching for her to return her to the experiments and has no intent on trusting him or allowing him close. OPINION: This was my favorite of the series so far. Raoul is a very sexy Cajun and the relationship between he and Flame is really hot. At the same time, there is great tenderness between the two even while they are seriously deadly people. The contrast between what they can do and who they are makes this book very intriguing. The story was multi-layered and complex. The overarching story of what is happening with the GhostHunters becomes more nuanced and this book makes a reader question of the motives and actions of characters that seemed set in prior books. This book is funny and sexy and dark and a great suspense book as well. This book makes it hard to read the next one because I'd really like to read more about Raoul and Flame than another couple right now. WORTH MENTIONING: This book is noteworthy in the way it forces the reader to question what has happened so far in the series an exciting way. FINAL DECISION: The connection between the characters is strong in this book and I especially loved the angst and love in this book. The relationship between Raoul and Flame is hot. The overarching story in this one was twisty and changed the complexion of what readers thought was happening in this series. CONNECTED BOOKS: NIGHT GAME is the third book in the GhostWalkers series. While this book can be read independent, I think to completely understand the conflicts the characters have, the prior two books are necessary backstory. STAR RATING: I give this one 4.5 stars.

Slow rising action
This was another good ghostwalker novel. It had a story within the story that I liked. It took a while for the characters to meet and the action to climax. But a good read

Great reread!
I'm reading this for the second time. Or the third I can't remember. I was reading the Ghost Walker books when they were first coming out. Now I've read like maybe half the series and doing a reread of them. Then, read the new ones I haven't. Gator and Flame's story is one of my favorites! They are both formidable warriors in their way and so like in so many ways and so different in so many other ways. Seeing them come together blossom, the relationship blooms and grows, and then it gets blown to bits and comes back together again. If you're looking for drama and action this is a great book to read! Certain points of the book with the action scenes had me on the edge of my seat and waiting for bullets to fly and everyone to come back from the mission safe. This is a great book. If nothing else it brings perspective to my life and I'm super grateful for the upbringing I've had with my parents. Knowing Flame's background and upbringing is heartbreaking. But it just goes to show her character when she comes through it all the better. I'm not sure there's more I should say without giving anything away. But if you are anything like me and a fan of Christine Feehan's books then give the Ghost Walkers a chance!

First things first: Gator is perfect! This book has everything a reader can want: action, love, passion, jokes, heartache. Feehan's writing style is simply amazing. I've read this book twice, and I'll probably read it again.

I love the continuity of the stories and how they all meld together keeping the story going while a new one starts

Another perfect ghost walker novel, I really loved the characters in this one. The book was full of action and nonny was introduced. I love her in Viper Game and the others, she's a tough old lady. I recommend this book highly.
